Jarryd is not the disease he is a symptom.

If we are to be any good, a part of that will be that players like Jarryd are no longer an automatic selection.

The fact that he is a basically automatic selection is a positive reflection on his desire, commitment, workrate and ability to have himself in a state of fitness to be available and prepared week in week out.

It is a negative reflection on our club that these things alone guarantee selection in the absence of better candidates due either to failures in recruitment or failures to have candidates fit and ready to take up the mantle.

It is a diabolically negative reflection on our club that that state of affairs has been allowed to persist for as long as it has. In those circumstances, being seen to blame Jarryd may be a classic case of projection in order not to identify the actual problem.

It is also common that people interpret mild dissatisfaction with his continued selection as "hate".

I think the course of our injuries have mitigated the negative aspects of the last few years. Blair's resilience meant he was often 1 of the few left to select. That the club waited so long to re-sign him and only did so for 1 years indicates they are perfectly aware of his limitations and place in the longer term scheme of things.

The most likely answer is Broomhead.

a) he's only just come into the side, ergo seen on fringe of 22
b) he's the most likely to be injured anyway
c) given the weather it's likely to be a very contested game which doesn't particularly suit him
d) good games from Broomhead at senior level have been few and far between, and usually after a consistent run of a few games in a row, which he won't have here.

You are offended by people not appreciating Blair for single handedly costing us the game last week with his completely inept performance? I don't want to offend you further so I won't tell you where I think you should shove your offense then.

He's a seasoned experienced AFL player and he gets excused for dismal performance because he tries hard??? wtf??
Did you see the poll? Did you read further? Perhaps I didn't explain it well enough in one single post.

I don't have a problem with Blair's position being questioned, it's the vitriolic way it's done by some posters, nasty some of it.
Now if it was Cam Wood i probably wouldn't care. That's just how I see it. Like some people boo, some people don't.

By the way I'm all for you telling me where to shove it, be as explicit as you like, have a great day.:)

Also to the bolded I don't believe I said that anywhere.

I'll be pissed off if Broomhead is dropped Sampler. Problem is I think you are right. It should be Blair, Broomhead did have some quality touches and looked threataning.

I want Crisp axed too.
