So why haven't these "simple fixes" been fixed!

We've heard it this year a few times from the coach that our losses were due to issues that have been identified and were easy fixes. Yet we still continue to lose through soft unaccountable football.

So either the players are not teachable or the coach can't teach?

Time to make a decision. Either drop those numbskulls who refuse to rectify their issues or sack the coach who can't get his message across.

Time for some real leadership down at the club.

against adelaide it was mental fragility, against the suns its basic fundamentals.
every week the excuses are dropping in complication and we are being told that we are a poor football side at the minute. i can only remember one player being dropped as a result of making a statement, goldy last year, and it made him a better player. its time for a selection statement, as we have too many things to fix in the space of two weeks. for the rest of the year, mckenzie plays, daw plays, we fix our stoppage setup, hine tags. we focus on defence for the rest of the year and lodge a legitamate attack next year.
sick of being told the same shit different, ****ing fix the issues, fool!

I think we would have won easily in the dry, the inability to play in the wet is purely the coaching department's fault, especially when we shirk training or playing practice matches in those conditions.

I think his sports science approach is too academic and not enough real world practice. He doesn't control who comes on or off the ground, some guy with a clip board, a computer and gps data decides it, there is no football nous involved at all.

There is too much delegation to midfield, forward and defensive coaches to get their positions right so we get these agonising painful changes which are slow to come, especially when it means moving one player from one line to another.

Lingy was saying the message was going out to man up the loose men, but where was the manning up? Who was being dragged off and baked on the phone for not doing what was instructed. The team itself has far too much autonomy to make moves, the power is in the hands of the guys who are not showing any leadership.

Scott has to say enough is enough, I am running the show or he is going to be hung by the mistakes everyone else is making.

I'm honestly not sure what is the solution.

But in the immortal words of John Kennedy : "Do SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

You do realise that this famous quote was from a losing Grand Final for Hawthorn. That illustrious September day in 1975. It didn't do much for Kennedy's troops so I don't see it helping North in 2013 but it sounds good.

Because they aren't just "simple fixes". It isn't simple to completely rectify a groups mental stability, which is obviously tarnished and fragile. It isn't simple to create leadership when we have minimal. It isn't simple to improve our defensive side when we quite obviously play a purely attacking game plan with little to no emphasis on defensive mind set and application.

It is not simple, Brad Scott is full of s***.

Yeah they're not which was the premise of the thread.

Just wonder whether the club should have a fans night down at Arden St and invite the fans to a forum with the coaches and the fans get to grill the coaches on various aspects of the development and coaching of the side?, North are renowned leaders and trendsetters of the comp after all.

Well aware of the context...............but last night, I would have liked to see the coach.......you know......do something.

The issues which cost us last night aren't the same as what cost us against Adelaide, Hawthorn, Collingwood or West Coast.
Want to elaborate UYI? Whilst I tend to agree, I do think the issues are inextricably linked. Dumb footy. Invisible Leadership. Little inactivity from the coaches box. Plan A followed by Plan A2.0(weirdly enough tastes same as Original Plann A)

Because the "simple fix" is to get rid of the same clown who says all our deficiencies can be rectified by a "simple fix" I would suggest BigEasy.

Because the whole area takes a lot of work and it's not something you can do overnight.
The actual thing is complex because there's a lot of little things defensively we need to do that our younger players are shying away from doing. This is where the everyone needs to be patient bit.

It's not a mental issue. That was worked out just after the review of the crows game.
It's a matter of time and whether or not the players especially the younger ones aren't going to shy away from those contests where the opposition player gets the ball and kick a goal. It's a matter of if the players are going to help eachother out or not.

The decking at the back of my place needs fixing and has so for a while. I know it's a fairly simple job, and tell, others as much, but I haven't done anything because I don't know how to fix it. I know it's a simple job, but only for someone who is capable of doing it, not me.

I am Brad Scott and my decking is North Melbourne 2013.

I'm struggling to follow this aussiefooty......no offence but it feels like more psychobabble from brad and the club. You're all calm and knowing..... n' shit. (Little Britain)

Not sure if I'm alone here but last night's game and then the presser after it etc made me wonder if I know as much footy as I think I do. Seemed ridiculous that we didn't do a simple thing, like man up TMac at all and he got 20+ uncontested possessions........then in brad presser he says we didn't/couldn't get the ball. This is FKing bulltish.....yes we did, we kept kicking it straight to bloody Mackenzie. Just seemed dumb, dumber and dumbest. What the hell am I missing?

Wouldn't that interfere with the comfort bubble?

You should pay a professional to fix it for you, short term pain to get the correct fix

Well I'm not planning on leaving the house for at least 3.5 years so I have 3 options
1. Keep acknowledging the problem, but not doing anything and watch it gradually get worse
2. Tackle it myself. I might do a good job but there's a fair chance I won't
3. Get someone in to help who knows what to do a possible teach me something at the same time.

So far using option 1 isn't working.
Option 2 next?

Pretty easy really. Get Roos in as a short term consultant to advised or give independent feed back on how to fix (or is that implement) some forms of defensive accountability.
