As far as Lokan vs. Swan things goes you should look at it this way:
What is more likely to happen? Swan get the perfect matchup and play a good offensive game against a Bruce, Whelan, Wheatley, Yze on a flank or Lokan taking one of them out of the game? MM chose the defensive option as he though one of these flankers could be the key to winning and opted to try Lokan in front of Swan.
