The most disappointing thing about the loss was the total lack of any sort of hardness at the ball throughout the day. The midfield got smashed mainly because they went in hard and we didn't.

I just hope that Adelaide are a bloody good side. Next week is a critical game that we can not afford to lose.

I agree. The reason we lost was because of the midfield... not because of the forwards and backmen we were missing. Every time there was a stoppage, they basically cleared the ball with the exception of the last 10 minutes. Some of our midfielders need to spend some more time in the gym, and I think our midfield setup could be better.

Cookie and McManus cop critisism for their skills, today I would have been happy if they had even got the ball.

Its not just the hardness is the basic skill errors.
Unable to hit targets...
Missing from 30 meters out right in front on the run...
Missing handballs....
Kicking to opposition players...

Macca wasn't our worst player by a long way. Give credit where it is due they wre too good but the boys fought it out to the end.
Last year and especially the few years before that we would have trown in the towel and lost by 100+ points.

Bring on round 2 we will be better for the experience.

BTW how good was the Ogre?

Yeah, and was it just me or was McManus's opponent always 30 metres in the open?

Thats his biggest problem. People go on about his poor skills but his lack of accountability when it matters just sh*ts me. His skills have improved but decision making has not. IMO

We did seem to win a few taps but Adelaide still came away with the ball too often. Obviously an area of concern

I dont have to say nothing:rolleyes: I have mentioned it before

Who do you think CC was referring to when he threatened to drop senior players that played poorly away?

Fair or not my first thoughts were Walker, Macca and Cookie.

Cook is the obvious one. Walker probably second. I wouldn't put McUseless in that category just yet, he was OK on Sunday.

Croad was one from last year who seemed to go missing away from Subi as well.

I think that if Fremantle don't muck around with the footy when they have it, they will win the game against Sydney. We don't want to see any of the players trying to be too cute with the ball.

You forgot Anthony Jones.

I doubt whether Macca will be dropped. Although he made a couple of costly mistakes he played OK I thought.

I reckon that Dion Woods and Robert Haddrill were pretty bad on Sunday. Jones didn't do that much either.
