Seriously though, if we weren't turning on eachother after a performance like that we wouldn't be Richmond supporters.
I'm just a bit frustrated that other people are a bit meh about it. I thought I'd make the post a bit humorous to ensure it wasn't me "turning on" other supporters. Do I turn you on?

To be fair to the OP, I'm not sure his suggestion is any worse than Choco Williams', which is for the players to spend the bye week wandering around Brunswick drinking avolattes and catching trams so that Melbourne feels like home next time we play there.
As opposed to Simpson's current idea of allowing some players to catch later flights so the squad is disjointed before game day.

Yeah that probably needs to be looked at.

After considering the question, the answer appears to be "meh".

i apologise if the thread isn't needed/appropriate.

However, I think we as a supporter base need to take a good hard look at ourselves. I made the stupid mistake of having the radio (882) on over the weekend and it really pissed me off how people are ringing in defending the club. The media say we are flat trackers/soft etc and yet people ring in and say "no essendon played really well" or "we are still contenders in the top four stop picking on the club"

PLEASE STOP MAKING EXCUSES!!!

Are we really that soft a supporter base?? I just feel like there are too many grand mother supporters who are happy to watch us pretend to contend by winning home games. As supporters we must demand improvement from the club. How can we do this? I have a couple whacky ones but I'd love some other people's input.

After shit games we can

1# boycott games
2# start a new slogan "every game is an away game" where we dress in opposition supporters colours and cheer the opposition to harden our team up (effectively an away game)

Are there any "hard nuts" at East Perth pushing ? Mark Hutchings travelling well but adequate at very best next up .

Has anyone been watching Venables surely he can't be far off . He was listed in best weekend gone

Charter the team a jet for Thursday to fly them halfway across the Nullarbor then turn around and come back.

Then book them into a hotel in the CBD for Thursday and Friday night.
Senior players to turn up half way through training so they get an extra hour at home.

This thread is embarrassing
There are already enough kneejerk threads
Now this is a kneejerk about the kneejerk not being strong enough :p
Ironically boycotting the game is something that a truly soft (fickle) supporter would do

I'm not paying $65 a game to stay home

Soft board - nisbett and co (should have been cleaned out years ago)
Soft head coach - Simpson (lets players with kids travel a day later)
Soft captain - hurn (I say **** all and never bollock any teammates)
Soft players - all of them ( poor tacklers, don't chase when going gets tough, physically weak, how about a decent weights program)
Soft supporters - average age at a home game must be about 64, cheer the boys off even after insipid performances)

I would love to see an empty stadium for thsi week. Simmo will hoepfully get the message.
The soft supporters are the ones who turn on their team the moment things get tough IMO
Things getting tough?? who said we were rebuilding?? every one thinks we are going for a flag. No team that has an ambition for a flag should get pumped like that?? score aside, the performance was horrible. If we were building, the you are correct. so either admit we are rebuilding, if not, you are the one who doses not appear to see whats happening.

The top of the table side put in a performance like that in Hobart a few weeks ago.

I only worry about West Coast Eagles. I do not care about other teams. Do you ever recall hawks getting belted lie this in their time?? or Cats?? or Lions??

I recall us pumping the Lions at the Gabba in one of their premiership years, does that count?

Perhaps not , but I recall the dogs getting belted by Geelong last year
(And last year is more similar to this year in that it's a more even competition now )
Nobody's claiming that we're capable of a three peat/fourpeat
Just that we're in contention this year

Actually, just looking at Brisbane's 2001 campaign: after nine rounds they were sitting outside the 8 with a 4-5 record, and had lost by 9 goals to the Bulldogs (who missed finals that year) and by 12 goals to Carlton (who finished sixth).

So based on that historical precedent, we're still well on track for a threepeat :D

Wish I could double like this post haha

So you're saying we should become more like our counterparts in Philadelphia?

I opened this thread expecting it to condemn the fans who only want to support in the good times, and when we lose come up with absurd ideas like #everygameisanawaygame

Imagine my surprise when I open the thread and find out it's about drugs instead.

Righteo please delete this thread, #everymodisanawaymod

Geelong lost by 86 points in 08. (Not a flag year, but probably their best team tbh)

This is ****ed if true. Stop being a mate to the players, you're not an assistant anymore. Be hard, drop so called senior players that act like children. Sack senior players more interested in fishing and camping. This is a football club not a lifestyle club. Go and play ammos or country footy. Go and coach ammos or country footy if you just want to have beers and play basketball with the coaches. Have a back bone and stand up to the board.
