his numbers stack up well, seen him bat and bowl, seems like the real deal, is he a jerk off field?

Why are guys with 1/2 his batting average and twice his bowling average getting a gig ahead of him?

Is he some massively annoying twat? because frankly from what I've seen he seems to tick all the boxes.
 
It's perplexed many people as to why he hasn't been selected to this point considdering the amount of success he has had at domestic level.

The only reason why I could possibly think that he hasn't been picked is because they don't think his style of bowling would have an impact at Test level. He doesn't seem to be the biggest turner of the ball. That said, he should have been given a go considdering his efforts thus far and who we have picked before him.

concur, they don't pick the best in the country, but then again, the don't even go to the state games any more.

boonie used to hover around a tonne of shield games, you'd see him pop up for a day or 2 everywhere during shield season. How hilditch survived selecting players without ever seeing them is baffling.

so he's got a lot in common with hilditch, except hilditch didn't play cricket, except for fielding, which he didn't do much.

This pretty much. I heard someone say elsewhere if you watched Lyon, Beer and SOK bowl 6 balls in the nets, SOK would probably be the least impressive of the three, and it's a true comment. And that's how the panel was picking the spinners in the dying days. (funnily enough it was the opposite with the batsmen, Smith and Hughes got picked despite how they appear batting because of their performances in the shield)
 
Hopefully our new selection panel rectifies the issues. SOK will have a few more Shield games to once again prove himself. Well hopefully NSW plays him to give him that chance.
