The most infuriating thing is that they received a 50m penalty and kicked a goal at an amazingly important time.

Another example of the umpires being given too much influence on the game. All these new rules.

It wasn't a 50m penalty, it was paid as a free kick down the ground, despite the ball being about 5 metres away when the supposed infraction occurred.

That was the funniest report I've seen in quite some time.

It wasn't one that made me go, "you can't be serious" but had me laughing because there was no way he was going to get done. That sort of contact is legitimate in Netball, Basketball etc.......he wouldn't have even felt it!

That umpire should be spoken to by his superiors. Players often lose focus after being reported, and they should only be making a report if they are sure that the player will get rubbed out.

Are you sure. I thought a 50m penalty was awarded everytime a report has been made.

Did anyone else make note of the Hird 60m penalty?

I think it's time they looked at taking away the umpires ability to report a player. There are very very few umpire reports that make it past the MRP without being thrown out in the last year or two. Unless there is video evidence you are a pretty good chance of being cleared. Maybe it could be one less thing for them to be concentrating on and they can work out the rest of the game?

While on that, what's happened to the points being explained in the MRP review? Johnno and the Wiz's suspensions came with a breakdown of high contact, in play whether it was reckless or negligent etc. Why aren't we seeing that anymore?
