Solomon Wants to play on*

To me it depends on the call on Drum; If Drum is re-contracted then he must be played, and I think he and Solomon are probably playing in the same type of utility role. It also depends on Solomon's attitude to potentially being a "depth" player with no assurance of weekly selection. From that article it looks like he would be fine with it.

i think that is quite an astute pick up, i think your right in that drum and solly are going for the one position, i would love for drum to eventually overtake solly and for solly to become a depth player, that seems a fair way off though at the moment, i think bucovaz would be closer to league footy than drum at the moment and he hasnt even played a wafl game yet :( the main reason i love solly, is because of his pure agression and hardness at the ball, and the bulk to hurt players who get in his way, it concerns me a little that we dont seem to have an heir apparent for that part of his game, although from all reports bucovaz loves that sort of stuff. i think we need to try and find some players with a bit more mongrel in them as well as talent, it will be very hard to replace a guy like solly, just as we have found it hard (whether people admit it or not) that it has been hard to replace mark johnson

Cheers, but I won't get too used to posters on here agreeing with me.

We've had plenty of players who were aggressive retire and Farmer and Carr would be on that list too, although their stuff was less accurately targeted than Johnson. I think a few of the young guys have shown a bit in terms of aggression.

Solomon does have a few minuses to balance out what he brings. Last week his kick out of the backline to a 3 on 1 contest and his careless high tackle, is typical of his skills and decision making.

Fancy yourself as a Solly clone hey :p

IP rates him too :thumbsu: When we play so badly I love the fact I sit near the boundary where they warm down, atleast I have some eye candy!

Keep a close eye on Solly during the quarter and 3 quarter time huddles. If you haven't noticed yet, you're in for a very pleasant surprise.
