INJURIES – Adelaide: Hart (hamstring), Burton (hamstring).

Now I actually thought Hart was looking good in the first quarter and a half, he looked much more comfortable tonight. However he was then forced off as he had a tight hamstring. Now this is a major concern as he’s getting on with age and we don’t want to be carrying any unfit players coming into the finals.

Now Burton missed a game earlier this season with a hamstring complaint and it appears he may have slightly aggravated it again. Hopefully it’s not too serious.

I know it's early but I'd say Torney would be the likely replacement for Hart, however if Burton doesn't come up for next week then the door is wide open. Welsh could come in, maybe even a Skipworth who was emergency this week.

Ben was playing well and seemed to Bucks fairly well under control. birdmans game was not the greatest but that means he'd be due this week so hope he comes up!

They might try and squeeze Bock back in somehow. I do think its time for Welshy. Roo needs to spend more time in the midfield.

Torney for Hart is quite easy however replacement for Burton is not so simple. In the Shed afterwards, Hamilton said Burton will be out for 2-3 weeks with hamstring complaint:(

Welsh for Burton, I would imagine.

It's not like for like, but probably the best we have available.

Maybe Bock for Burton, but more likely to be Welsh.

Really worried about how bad Roo looks. Let's just hope he is carrying an injury becuase the alternative is too depressing to think of.

Welsh and Torney will come in for Burton and Hart. Matty Bode can consider himself very, very lucky.

It's great to see Criagy showing so much confidence in the playing group. Let's hope, come finals, guys like Bode, McGregor, Shirley, Reilly etc will repay that faith.

This is almost worthy of it's own thread.

I think the club needs to make a very quick and honest assessment of where Roo is - and how we get him to the first week of the finals fit and firing.

If he is taking on extra load - clearly his comprimised base isn't enough to take that load without making him look stiff and sore.

I'm washing my mouth out in advance but ATM - Roo is a liability in the fwd line, cannot keep up in the midfield and couldn't outrun my Nana....

He has had a tough year and IMO needs to be freshened for the finals. This is controversial but we run the risk of breaking him down over the next 4 weeks if he isn't managed properly.

It worries me to say but there is a lot of "late 1997" in the way Roo is carrying himself ATM..........I hope I'm wrong.....

As much as I hate to admit, this was quite evident last night.

I think it is a risk for sure (resting him), however it is just as big a risk keeping him on the ground (when he doesn't provide an option for us). Porplyzia needs to spend more time on the ground, he really looks to have something special. Rest Roo... now or after the Freo game. Of course if we lose both Burton AND Hart, and we still havent got Bunjy back... they are VERY big gaps to fill.

I think this is why the club will keep playing Roo when otherwise they could have rested him

I guess that's why they continued to play Bunjy when they could have had his foot op done during the break. It's a bit like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Unfortunately though we are running out of weeks before the finals and there is no way Roo can last without some intervention.

I don't see how we can't afford not to rest him. Even with Hart, Burton, Macca out. We are losing nothing by not playing him, when he is in this condition. It's not as though we will be resting an inform Roo. He adds little at the moment. We really need Roo up and firing in 4 weeks time.

I actually thought Roo had an influence in the midfield when he went in there in the third quarter. I don't think it's a coincidence the Crows got a run-on when Roo moved on to the ball.

I agree. Most of your best 22 look very tired at the moment. They need to be fresh for the finals. I think Craigy should rest them all this week.

One week should do it, then they'll be fine. ;)

I'm not a fan of using the "taper" thing as an excuse, but I did hear the Crows have just completed the hardest three weeks of training in their history. Apparently things will start to lighten off a touch now.

Crows' Burton fear

Adelaide fears acrobatic forward Brett Burton's hamstring injury will keep him out of the remaining four matches before the finals.

And veteran defender Ben Hart also has a hamstring injury and is expected to miss at least the next two games.

Hart went off early in the second quarter of the match against Collingwood at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night and Burton hobbled across the boundary line to the bench late in the final term.

More will be known soon on the extent of the hamstring damage.

Adelaide officials said on Saturday night Burton's injury was more severe than Hart's, and the early forecasts were they could miss two and four matches respectively.

Why is that Good tackles does lots of 1 percenters missed a easy shot but not the only one Porplyiza had a chance to put the game beyond doubt is he very very lucky.

Hart should not have come straight back in and i stand by that only played 30 minutes against the Roos would have found the eagles game hard as he is getting older should have come back through North for mine. The type of game we play is hard running he missed to much footy to come straight back in.

Not all bad though as Welsh has to be given a chance and we will need Bock if we are going to play winning finals.

I noticed the skipper getting frustrated against the Roos looked like a caged lion the brain was saying run the body was saying no.

I will keep saying this success this year will depend on Hudson as we play good teams it is more evident we miss his marking and work around the ground his 2nd and 3rd efforts are crucial.

What I had heard was that Walsh "thrashed them" on the bikes, and he has now been told to "p!33 off" with that.

Since hart is out for two does this mean the club will have to rescheldue his testimonial match again?

Sounds like Burton will be our for 3-4 weeks, which will be a big loss. Time to bring in Welshy.

JT for Hart seems the obvious swap.

Bock should also come in for Kenny, as Sarge needs a little longer in the SANFL.

LOL... you wish!:D

With Melbourne losing to Carlton on the weekend, 1 more win out of the next 4 would secure top 2. Roo needs a rest, IMO, he will play this week, and maybe the game off against Port?? is Macca due back next week, or the week after?

Do we give Roo 1 week off or 2?

Who do we replace him with?
