Had a feeling we might be edged out when Dilena said he was looking forward to future Good Friday games with North as the "anchor tenant"

I don't really care, no two clubs should have a permanent grip on a marquee fixture.

Just hope they take it off North one year, the tantrums will be of galactic proportions.

We out numbered North. They didn't do much promoting either.

But yeah, kick us off...

Our crowds were good even after finals was a small unlikely reality. We are growing. 30k+ vs GWS even.

Never theirs to lose. Always been our initiative.

That said, the AFL should have kept it North v Dogs in perpetuity.

The about no two teams having a lock on a marquee fixture is such bullshit.

Happy for St Kilda to have it. We get the opening fixture most years. Think it should be a non-Vic game anyway - I get that North wanted it for a long time but if they can't turn it into a genuine success, then it doesn't matter how long they've campaigned for it.

Hopefully Essendon get that Good Friday fixture.

That would have actually made the most sense from the get go.

North v Essendon every year, would rapidly have become a great fixture.

Im not sure, I recall the Roos doing a fair bit of promotion, I would have expected WB fans out numbered north considering the Dogs came off a flag.

That said it probably makes sense that North and WB make this their own.
