I actually am embarrassed that we won that game. The umpiring was awful, and we got the better of it. You're team tried their guts out till there was nothing left, mine didn't.

Your team played some awesome football, and will only get better. If they play with the intensity they did today they'll be in the 8 in no time.

Bad luck guys.

I agree totally.

We were outmarked, out run, outplayed. The only things that cost you that game was indecision t crucial stages and the worst umpiring performance I can recall.

I wasn't sure of the etiquette of starting a thread on another sides' board so I'm glad Smiddaz did it for me.

A very honourable loss. Discount the Dees at your peril.

Commiserations Melbourne. Sport can be strange, you guys outplayed us comprehensively but the only place you didn't beat us was on the scoreboard. If your fellas can play with that intensity all the rest of the season you sure wont be in the cellar with Richmond and Carlton. Again great effort you were robbed but at least you can take heart from that performance.

I'm with these other two, a complete dishonourable win for us. I don't want the 4 points not at all, you guys really deserved this win and in my mind you guys did win. As I said in another thread I hope Jim Stynes honestly is smiling at the moment which I'm sure he is, every Melbourne supporter should be very proud because you guys truly won today.

My deepest sympathys, Muse.

agree with everything above. Actually felt sick you didn't win that game

Got to hope that it builds character in the young blokes rather than deflate them.

Well played Demons ! :thumbsu: I can see much to look forward to in the near future.. Grimes is a gun, love Scully as well.
Stay positive as your team is on its way up... :D

Thanks guys. Really appreciated. The positives were obvious but it's now just a mater of whether we can get up again next week

Yeah, hollow victory. I've never felt so angry after a match we've won.

Hopefully your boys can play at that level consistently, would knock off plenty of sides.

Great game Melbourne, you definitely deserved the win, and I have a lot more respect for your players than I did 24 hours ago. You guys are going places with this young group, and I think if you can replicate that performance each week you can do a bit of damage this year and a lot more in years to come. I think the sleeping giant has begun to stir.

Its fair to say the Umps where very poor but they where not to blame.

We had our chances to win this game but didnt take our chances. What need to happen now is that effort week in week out and wins will come.

High class from you Collingwood fans. You can look forward to exercising graciousness in victory over the next couple of years. I don't disagree that the boys deserved to win, but in the end they weren't good enough to take advantage of several opportunities to finish it off late.

Thanks Pie fans. You're not all bad. ;)
I think the Pies fans are the 2nd best opposition supporters on BF (behind Sydney supporters).
The majority are intelligent, well-spoken and unfloggy. Which is more than I can say about their offline counterparts.

Bad Luck guys,
Pretty pitiful effort by us and the Umps, god they were bad..

Your boys deserved the win, ours didn't, some how we got away with the win?

Good Luck in the future, you lot will be fine.

I walked away from the G today, disappointed that we stole the 4 points, Melbourne definitely came to play today. Your boy's need to show that same intensity next week and not drop their heads. If they do that then pencil in a win, great future ahead with the young men running around Melbourne supporters. I only hope we took something away from today's game so as to prepare us for what awaits next week against the saints.

on the tram on the way back i ran into an old friend whom i went to primary school with. We looked at eachother (he was in his melbourne gear and i was in my pies gear) we both loled and for the first time ever i felt bad for winning a match.
