WEST Coast defender Matt Spangher has asked to be traded after 26 games in five seasons. Spangher, who hails from Victoria, will seek opportunities elsewhere next season after playing just eight games this year. The 23-year-old couldn’t secure a key defensive post in 2010, with Eric Mackenzie and Will Schofield preferred by the club.

Perhaps our needs for a kpd have been answered?
I see Spangher as a player who definately deserves to be looked at, I rate him higher than both Mackenzie and Schofield.
Thoughts?

I'm glad you rate him higher. Even the bottom of the ladder team don't rate him high enough to start him.

Apparently we were interested last year? I didn't know why then and I hope to hell we aren't now.

He wouldn't even get near our line-up. I wouldn't even take him for free.

Knowing us we probably will go and pick him up.
He really is not as bad as you all proclaim he is.
With some confidence im sure he can make a player of himself, you'll all see

we do need a KPD but we need a big bodied one. He is lightly framed and offers us less than what Tex would offer playing the same position.

I hope the club stay away but if they don't and feel the need to get him then nothing more than a 4th round pick. I'll be filthy with anything more

No more rejects ..no more hacks ... cmon its not 2002 anymore why do u want the football club to go backwards ...recruiting players like teague , harford are long gone ... we'll only recruit proven stars and you will see that come trade week !... the club is well banked up

For the right price, worth considering. Our third round pick will be in the 50s - good luck attracting an 18 year old KPP at that pick!

We're delisting Fisher, possibly losing a ruck to Sth Australia, Kreuzer is injured, Thornton and o'hAilpin have played out the season at the Bullants, Austin's career has stalled.

So it's not like we've got an abundance of options should one of Henderson, Waite, Bower or Jamison miss any part of the season.

Without reading any other responses to this topic i will just say this player is an absolute spud! Not required at Carlton thanks.

i'd rather brown than spanhker....

i'd be looking at a project ruck with our 3rd rd this year if sauce goes.

Having said that if we do delist a few players and thornton does go? we'll have a bit of $$ in the bank so who knows who we may coax over?

I'd take him for the right price.

From what I've seen, he's nothing special - but if we got him for a 4th round pick, then I'd be all for it.

If they want Browne in a straight swap we'd have to consider it.

He's no star obviously, but everyone has their price. If he came cheap enough then we'd be silly not to explore our options with him.
