For those who still aren't sure, the news is true .... I'm sure official confirm will be out very soon.

I cant see them sacking him without a firm replacement.

When they want to release the news, may more have to do with how much back page news they want to take up, .....bloody hope not. they could drag this out for days....

Bolton wasn't at pricess warf with the team a few minute ago....WC or GC?

Whateley record is pretty good , doesn't shoot froim the hip like Barrett , goodbye Bluey.
Agree with this,Whateley is no fool and I for one really respect his analytical, considered approach to journalism, if Emma Quayle comes out with it too in the next few hours then it is 100% that Bluey is gone,

I hope the club know what they are doing.

some dons wags are saying this is a play by Thompson to force Hurd out of Essendon and get the dons gig for himself. aslo this...

I have great respect for Bomber T but you cant deny that his one of the best at scheming to get his way. His getting Hird out, just like getting behind the media agenda of "what's Ablett going to do?" all the while talking to EFC. Or that emotional speech at the Geelong function, along the lines of "are we going to stick together and have the success we deserve?" Throwing heat on Gaz, a couple of months later he was "burnt out from footy" then wearing a EFC polo.

Nah wouldn't think so. I get the feeling this is a brilliant ploy by Bomber to put pressure on the board to throw Hird out and stay Head Coach of EFC. Should of already happened, now it simply has too.
They will be left with nothing if Bomber leaves and players take a deal and miss games, then Hird will be sacked...then what?

I will post link if needed.

“It has been a privilege to have coached the Gold Coast SUNS and I know the success the club aspires to achieve is not too far away.

“The club has every right to pursue a direction it believes will give it the best chance of continued improvement. Although I leave with a heavy heart, I am content that I have helped develop a unique group of players.

“I leave with some great memories and strong friendships and I know they will remain despite my early departure,” McKenna said.

@SENfooty: Guy McKenna has been SACKED as coach of the Gold Coast Suns. Presser at 2pm from the club. McKenna to speak at 3pm.

I'm amazed.
Would love to see the chart of what progression they expected each year from day one.
