Are you Daoist?

No, im told im an alcoholic.

its an holistic program that sheds shame, inhibitions, brain cells (we got too many) and often leads to banning from footy forums. I actually recommend it. But not today, not for me, although, I am practicing...

that bit on fox, with bomber speaking, he shows fight to stay in the role. id say he has the boards backing. Bomber is staying staying at the dons. Hurd is on the out.. take it to the bank.

I guess one of the problems with sacking Hird is that his pay-out fee is reportedly close to two million dollars. With that in mind, they will be very careful about whether they can even afford to do that.

Hird no doubt has quite a bit of clout with the board members. They may still support him for all we know.

Clarkson had a very similar background before he got his gig, actually. It's not like he has zero experience playing, either; the guy used to play for Box Hill.

One of the things ive heard is Bolton looks to nice, too nice to get in your face and scare you, yell at you, etc. But people don't realise that is not the way to the brain. THE brain needs input, change, understanding. You don't need Barry hall to explain strategy. You may need him to scare people. If coaching was about scaring people, Barry Hall would be a coach, not a commentator.

He is obviously well respected by the strongest coaching staff of any club in the comp. He was chosen and did a perfect job for the Hawks when he was asked to step up in favour of other coaches the Hawks had available to them when Clarko went down. (was Ratten one of them?) That speaks volumes of their belief in him. They brought him from 'obscurity' in lower grades because they saw something in him. So much so he was given the gig over more experienced, winning AFL coaches instead. He came through with an 100% record. No other coach has ever achieved that. 5 wins in their 1st 5 outings. The Hawks made the correct choice as their second coach instead of Clarko...Brendon Bolton.

Mental conditioning is Boltons talent. That's the reason the Hawks put Bolton in the hot seat while the Hawks waited, not knowing how long Clarko would be out. They knew if anyone could keep the team mentally focussed it would be Bolton. They were right, he did, They won every game, he won his slice of history, he stood beside Clark and held the trophy on GF day. What more endorsement do some people need? The Hawks don't. They know his talents.

Wonder what our.odds.are now.of.getting bomber

If Hird remains will Caroline Wilson get the sack? She's saying it's literally been done and dusted.

Has he the correct motivation? He said he understood the Dons gig was for 1 year, now he is cuddling powerbrokers inside the EFC, and has set himself up against the man he said he would stand aside for. Said that going back to 2nd grade was something players and (coaches) heated.

Its Bomber vs Hird. Bomber said that wouldn't happen. If Bomber wants our GCS gig so bad, why is he so prepared to go through the EFC shit before taking our lay down misere of success?

He is all about himself. He is EFC through and through, he is ruthless, he walked out on Geelong on a lie then went to the Dons, has a bad relationship with GAJ. Why are we chasing this bloke?

He will choose what he feels is right for him. He won't accept the GC job if he doesn't have the passion - it's as simple as that.

No he is treating us as second best and is prepared to go through a shit fight to avoid us as second best!!

He actually has a good wrap for being able to give measured, constructive feedback. It's not like he only says nice things to people and avoids genuine criticism. The impression players have of him at the Hawks is a really nice guy, but at times brutally honest (something of a grinning assassin). We have to remember that part of the apparent problem players had with Bluey was that he didn't give honest feedback, or at least they didn't feel like they were being given honest feedback. However, Bolton is continuously complimented for his honesty, and that's something worth considering in my eyes.

Anyway, the reasons for Guy's sacking are cloudy for me: I still don't know whether this is Guy being incompetent, the board being incompetent, or our players being prima donnas after being yelled at/de-listed and blaming it all on Guy. I wish the reasons would be more straightforward for his sacking, because the rumour that Harbs was upset he got a spray after being flogged by the Lions (enough for everyone to want Guy sacked) made me lose confidence in the players. It didn't make me go, "Oh, poor Harbs. He got yelled at." Hopefully that's a load of journalistic dribble, though. Otherwise, we have a situation where the tail is wagging the dog, and a team of mentally weak individuals. Again, hopefully it's rubbish. Wish there was more clarity from the club, really.

I have an issue with this. He left Geelong because 1) that was a clause on his contract that allowed him to, and 2) he left because the board was still heavily critical of him as a coach.

He left Geelong because following the 2006 review where he was almost completely removed, there were still faceless men out to remove him. Geelong was an insidious environment for him after all he'd been through, and after a decade of coaching a team to success, he had enough.

Yeah, he's Essendon through and through. Just like Bluey was WC through and through, and Gaz is Geelong through and through - so what?

As for that 'bad relationship' with that, well - what a load of rubbish. There was obviously an issue while they were both at Geelong, but as reported by Barrett (complete flog btw), they were laughing and very friendly at the Brownlow.

Whether we get Bomber or not, we shouldn't doubt his integrity.
