Played double digit games in every season since drafted in 2021. Was he played out of position? Cause from memory he was an inside mid as a draft prospect.

I think that traditional inside mid that can't do anything else is dying out - very similar to Berry with us

Reckon he might have come close if he wasn’t out for how many games?

Dawson won the B&F with 149 votes from 25 games, at an average of 5.96 votes/game.
Rankine came 6th with 133 votes from 22 games, at an average of 6.05 votes/game.

Counting against that is the reason why Rankine missed those 3 vital games...

Rankine did claim more votes/game than Dawson, though it literally boils down to 1 vote across the entire season. I would also hazard a guess that few players polled strongly in the 2 finals we lost, which would have dragged Dawson's average down - and Rankine's would have suffered similarly if he had played those games. In effect, not playing the finals games has benefited Rankine, resulting in him finishing with a higher votes/game than Dawson.

Just got stuck in no-mans land with Durham breaking out and Essendon, being, well Essendon.

I'd be curious what we could do with him to be honest. He's a good ball winner and we have a much stronger strength/conditioning department compared to Essendon.

Interesting. You have to start to wonder about Essendons development. I feel like a lot of high draft picks of theirs dont come on, or are barely holding a spot.

Except when it comes to developing mids, we aren't exactly flying either.

His kicking is not great but I still think he's an AFL quality player.

For team that barely has any AFL quality players seems strange to delist him.

Why do you laugh? Dawson is clearly our #1 player, and suggesting that Thilthorpe was #2 in 2025 is far from ridiculous.

Pretty strong argument for Filthy to be #1 for the next few years.

You just don't get forwards with his height, strength, agility, skill levels. Generational talent.

And he's still young. Imagine him getting even better.

2024 he was injured/suspended for too many games.
2025 we all know what happened.

He plays lots of games at an AA level in a season, he just needs to... do that for a whole season.
