I'm curious if Melbourne would be willing to lose both of them. They might have been open to Oliver going when Petracca was staying but if he goes, are they still willing to lose Oliver too?
I'm genuinely of the thought process that neither player will flourish at the MFC going forward, but both could still have big time ends to their careers at other clubs.

Also, I believe the MFC will be better off much MUCH sooner if they pull the trigger on a full rebuild now, rather than hoping this list will miraculously turn it around as all their bitter stars age out, and another expansion club enters the chat.

Bottom line is someone in that club needs to stones to call this offseason what it truly is. The firesale before the rebuild!

Nearly want to just move onto Oliver early and lock him in. Specially if Trac is waiting for Hawks to come knocking. Rather a player who wants to join.

Gettable said we have a 4-5 year offer for Ah Chee on the table.

I am still only luke warm on Ah Chee even more so at five years. No wonder he is interested.

Of course he makes our team better and I get the plan is for him to free up Rankine and Rachele but I don't think he is a huge need.

I still think in our best 22 he will end up replacing one of Keys or ANB. We will still want a couple of crafty, quick, dynamic forwards

My guess is they are not really related

They would happily move Oliver on, they just need a club to take him on the right terms and there isn't that much interest. I don't believe we are that keen on him anymore. We need pace and a good ball user. He is neither and can only really play in the midfield

Petracca is clearly the better player now a days and they would keep him if they could but it seems he wants out.

A lot better forward than Taylor and Pedlar probably ever will be
Oh cmon ......Taylor & Pedlar still at the early part of their careers .....Ah Chee towards the end .....a silly comparison, apart from the fact they are all very different players

I agree somewhat with fuic08 .....more IMO a good average player, but with the ability to play back & forward :whitecheck:

Pedlar just needs a sustained run of footy .....he's showed with his attack on the footy & man, what he's capable of ....just too infrequently to this point

But 2026 is a new season

He’s not average what so ever hahahha
Yeah he’s not an A grade but will bring a lot to the table

He's definitely an average player. Wouldn't add as much as any of last year's recruits

From Google: In 2023, Ah Chee signed a two-year extension with the Lions to bring his contract through to the end of this year. Despite being out-of-contract at the end of the season, he isn't a free agent, having only played six years at the Lions.

Agreed. However, he seems to not be a stay-at-home forward. Last week, for example, he seemed to be running up and down the ground to both ends, more like a wingman. I'm not that impressed, but at least he is a proven finals player.
If we can't and one of the big prize mids, then we have to keep increasing the floor of the team like we did last year. AhChee and a player like Hollands (if you could get him understanding it a last chance saloon) as he has real talent and swap out a couple of the fringe players and its looking better again AND we then would still be able to draft in the 1st round of this draft so keep building top end player talent to develop.
