I usually make myself a coffee then have to walk back to my office as the amenities are the other side of my workplace. I usually don't have a lot of time so I make my coffee then walk to the other building where my office is.
So usually I have 6/8th of a cup of coffee left by the time I walk across the yard. Well, I have got a lot of practise so I can actually usually make the 45m walk without much of a slosh.
I read an article similar to this in the paper a while back.

7 to 10 steps eh, yep sound right. If I can't walk slowly ususlly 7 to 10 steps before the 1st slosh, sound right.
But I think I have come up with a solution. I decided that I wanted to do something that counters the movment of the mug due to stepping. With my arm in the normal "walking with coffee position", I slowly moved my arm away then back toward my body. It is kind of like "signalling 4 runs" in super slow motion. Well it seemed to work. Sloshing seemed to stop.
How many of you have to walk with a mug of coffee from time to time? Try this. See if it works for you.
1st world problem solved?
