*this is firmly tongue in cheek and a way to lighten up the week after that horrendous third quarter...
There's a reason why our last nine games were so good last year - Jarrad Grant. Move over Prudden, we have a new saviour.
The former number 5 pick, nicknamed Spindles/Spindleshanks, came into the team the week that we turned around our season - after a loss to Melbourne and a gritty win but equally uninspiring performance against GWS, in our Round 16 moral win over Essendon, where his 19 touches and goal were only a small taste of what was going to come. There were the games against Carlton, West Coast and of course that goal against Melbourne - if anybody need a reminder of what he did to our team:
Unfortunately, after signing a new two year deal, in January, disaster struck: injury. While we all hoped and prayed that it wouldn't be a major concern, that was not the case, and it was not until now that he has been available for selection.
Thus, with his likely inclusion in our team, not only returns a skinny forward, but the hopes and dreams of Western Bulldogs supporters everywhere.
Good luck Spindles!
