(Tarrant could have played, I have no doubt about that, perhaps Caracella too. We definitely rested injured players that we would have played if we had been in the race for the finals. Whether that's tanking, I don't know, but its certainly conservative list managenment with 2006 in mind.)

Yep, I agree, go the spoon. For the first time in my 35 year supporting history I don't mind losing towards the end of the season as long a we put on a show. I was stunned with my own feelings as North clawed back 4 goals to rob us and the points, I was relieved that we could still have a chance at the priority picks. On the other hand It will be good ridence to the priority picks as I don't want those sort of mixed feelings again.

It wouldn't bother me if we did finish bottom, 2 early picks, a free run at an uncontracted player and all important leverage in trade negotiations. We are a crap side when half our team is missing but take solace from the fact that Carlton are a whole different level of crap.

Love it, well said!!! Carlton have their full side in and are still crap!!! Bring on the draft picks, with a full team and with the young players coming along nicely I see a bright future as early as 2006!
