We all know sports betting ads are shoved in your face during games and when watching football tv shows. Crypto.com in the past couple of year as well

But I have always found these cash converter ads interesting. Its such a random business to have an ad on TV. Its not like it is a booming business which every one uses or appeals to the demographic watching the football. They all are pretty dodgy looking and run down. Very far in terms of quality from the other companies advertised during the footy.

I wonder if there is a link between gambling/crypto.com and cash converter ads?

People who have a gambling problem are chasing losses and need money.

How convenient there is an ad which your favorite footballers advertise a place you can sell your items for money.

Cash converters are absolute scum. They exist to take advantage of the most desperate people.

They’re a predatory payday lender masquerading as a pawnbroking business.

If you’ve ever seen one of these places on the street, you notice the pattern of lines out the door every Monday morning on an off pay week for Centrelink.

No surprises that they’re linked to the AFL. Basically just bombarding suckers with gamble gamble gamble ads, followed up with sell all your shit and take out loans to fund your habit ads.

You’d think multimillionaire footballers like Neale, Cripps and Bont would have enough money in the bank to need to shill for these scumbags, but I guess not.

Have you seen the interest rates for these payday lenders. Outrageous.

Agree that AFL players appearing on ads for payday lenders is a terrible look for AFL.

I’m sure there would be some links to payday lenders and those with gambling issues too. Worthy of further discussion.

I've always suspected something fishy when a player on a Mil a year is looking for a 2nd hand playstation
You have to remember the great PS5 shortage during COVID.

I doubt Bont and trac would of thought about this and if its true (IMO it is very logically it is) it would really hurt their brand and something they wouldn't support.

If you have X, tag them and see if it gets their attention.

It’s not a good look for the players, clubs or AFL as a sporting organisation.

I was trying to watch the hawthorn Brisbane game on the 7 app. Every ad break was bont cash converters ad are there other players on them as well? I'm weird and like to visit cash converters checking out there stuff seeing the ad this many times may have put me off.

Agree with the comments about payday lenders I've noticed they are on a lot of premier league tops.
