I'm not a fan of Ross Lyon's coaching ... but he has a point here.

It's a point that has been made on BF many times. How many discussions have there been about players in the draft or WAFL who should come in and who should go out. Or discussion about some player at the draft who we should get who is somehow magically better than players who have carved out a career.

Our teamwork is rubbish. That's all she wrote.

Not spot on if you read DL. Yet another way to bash the coach.

Seems a self evident statement to me.

He's saying the same stuff Malthouse has always said. If you're picked you contribute and you're expected to contribute. None of this shit about Pav pulling us out of the poop every time. YOU do it. Step up to the plate.

Yeah it's pretty obvious stuff and I would think one of the reasons we went and grabbed Lyon in order to pull the club up and kill off the demons. It's a team game and Lyon wants players that play a team game regardless of draft position, talent and media nonsense. If you play your role and play it better than anyone else your in the team.

You need your standout superstars - I think the point is that we are trying to ice a half risen muffin, rather than a cake.

I'd say we have a dozen players who can be relied upon to put a professional 4 qtrs of footy in week in/week out, not ever going to be a top 4 threat until we find the guys that can play that role.

Weird that the OP, who has consistently been one of the Freo types in support of the big name trade, agrees with this.

No doubt it should have been a policy last year when the coach, faced with a minor injury list to start the season, went in with a reactive, loss limiting game plan, and subsequently set the team up for failure.

You talking about Lyon?
