Pick #28: Leigh Montagna
178cm - 78kg

Leigh Montagna is one of our modern favourites, with a career in which thus far he has played 232 games and kicked 138 goals. He was one of our best players in our '09 and '10 seasons; in 2010 averaging 28 disposals a game. He made the All Australian side in 2009 and 2010. He finished 3rd in our 2007 best and fairest, 2nd in the 2010 best and fairest and has placed highly in many other counts.

Put him on a wing thanks TN25.

Pick 29: Luke Ball

Games: 142
Goals: 58
Height: 183cm

Luke played his best football at St Kilda in his early years. After receiving a Rising Star Nomination in his debut season 2003, he had a breakout year in 2004 averaging 20 touches, 5 tackles and 5 clearances at just 20 years of age. 2005 saw Ball's best season for St Kilda, pairing with midfield stars like Lenny and Harves to propel St Kilda to another prelim final. He was rewarded with the Saints B&F and AA selection. He captained St Kilda in Riewoldt's absence and was subsequently named captain in 2006 due to GT's rotation policy. Luke was an integral part of the Saints midfield unit for the best part of a decade until his departure and subsequent disappearance in late 2009.

Reasoning: I need a midfielder.

As much as I hate that he ended up at Collingwood, I loved him at the Saints, good selection. If Montagna was gone then I would've gone with Ball.

Uncle Barrels you're up.

Pick 30
- Uncle Barrels' Barbarians: Aaron HAMILL, Tuggeranong/Carlton (184cm 94kg): inspirational half forward

St Kilda Career: 98 games (125 goals)
St Kilda Captain 2003

It's an absolute tragedy that this bloke never got the extra two games to make him a father-son candidate. The very definition of 'forward pressure', and an intimidating and inspiring presence on the field, teammates walked taller when Sammy was next to them. Ultimately his aggressive style was his undoing, with a chronic knee issue sustained during a botched hip and shoulder creating the 'Aaron Hamill - 2 weeks' gag.

Hamill played much taller than his height indicates, and was both a genuine marking threat and a thumping kick for goal, but here he takes his place on the half forward flank, and indeed, the captain's armband. Before Lenny, he was my far-and-away favourite Saints player.

Defacto

All jokes aside guys, please stop throwing out player's names, it makes it a bit harder and a bit more fun for everyone if we have to do it ourselves...
