I know there is a not north thread, however, the result seems to have thrown up some discussion points on about 8 other threads atm.

What can we take from this result?

Good teams, even Freo if they don't bring their A game, can be beaten by poor teams.

Freo travelled here without their ruckman and outside pace.

Bottom teams who have a smattering of good players can lift and with effort and passion can give amazing performance.

Even Ross Lyon spraying his players doesn't always work.

If you don't bring a determined attitude to any game, anything can happen against anyone. If you show up, want to piss around and win a game when you feel like it, usually you won't. Difference is that it will happen to Freo once. We do it every two or three weeks.

The competition is closer than a lot of people would think, just by looking at the ladder. Shit happens, you can't win them all.

Our club has several issues facing us, that's undeniable. But almost every single other club has stumbling blocks as well, and at the end of the day only 1 club will win the flag.

It was a great game to watch, and a salient reminder about the old adage: "on any given Sunday, any team can beat any other team".

To prove the theory that there is a Godfather quote that can be adapted to any situation...

If anything in this life is certain. If history has taught us anything. It's that you can be beaten by anyone.

We can have a "down" game maybe once or twice, even three times a season.

Not every ******* fortnight.

This repeated ad nauseum.

a fortnight ago we were aggressive at every contest.

last night we we second to the ball all night.

its deadset bullshit.

I think we just turned up and played our normal average game against the Saints, as we did yesterday against Carlton.

We're just lucky the bad Saints turned up last week, Freo copped the good Saints today.

Thank God we dodged the good Saints or it would've been horrible as last night showed there doesn't seem to be a Plan B at the moment.
