Pick 72 - Geelong

Taylin Duman
193cm / 75kg
Norwood / Oakleigh Chargers

Duman's pretty versatile at a stick-thin 193cm, probably ends up a third tall defender at AFL level. He can play on a tall and run off them, and is still probably quick enough to play on most smalls, though that might change once he gets an AFL body - 15kg more. Doesn't look to me like his disposal is good enough to play in the midfield, but he seems to be able to find the footy and likes to take blokes on. There's a lot to work with here, similar to J-Kolo.

aussierulesrules want one last pick?

Pick 74 - Geelong

Ben Long
183cm / 71 kg
St Marys (NT) / Melbourne Grammar / Footscray (VFL)

Pretty hard to go past Isaac Cumming here, but we've already taken a couple of half-backs, surely there's a limit! Ben Long is pretty good for this pick, he's a small forward/back with some reasonable attributes. Kicked some goals in the VFL for the Scraggers, including a couple in the grand final, and seemed to play his part around the ground. And he's a decent size now after putting on a few cm and 10 kg in the last year. Definitely worth a swing.

24 - Harrison Macreadie (tall back)
38 - Patrick Kerr (tall forward)
42 - Callum Brown (small inside mid)
64 - Sam Walker (medium half-back)
72 - Taylin Duman (tall half-back)
74 - Ben Long (small forward)

Pretty happy with this haul, all have something to prove but generally we've got pretty good disposal and good run in this lot. Kerr and Duman are the make-or-break ones - if they both come through then this could be a super draft for the Cats.

one more pick Tommy Wigs?

Pick2

Tim Taranto

Write Up

People like barrels hero KM are afraid, scared and need to get off this high horse about taranto. "but they rate him in their top 10 isn't that enough" no, not al all you bunch of campaigners.

i generally don't understand how this kid is not the number 1 pick. people have spoken again and again how its even at the top and i agree with that, its even at the top after you take away taranto being the clear cut no.1.

The Ex Baller outta the south eastern suburbs was the honorary recipient with the honour of attending "mentorship by Balic" an exclusive club with tim the only attendee this year and it showed why learning off balic and leaning on him weekly helped the way for him to go from mid round section to now us (GWS) laughing at the convicted drug cheats for passing over the man who will be the most elite in this draft class by the time he's on his second contract.

what we love about tim besides the fact he can play any position on the field,

- we can play him on the wings opposite scully learning off him
- we can play him as a high half forward as a freakishly good overhead mark for a 186cm'er learning off lids and stevey J
- we could give him to shaw and change his complete game while list spots are tough to come by and make him a rebounding overhead defender with an attacking game who wont get beat 1on1
or what we can do is give him to lenny hayes and the rest of the midfield staff and turn him into the elite player every club will be giving him blank cheques at in 24 months time

however with those blank cheques will be laughs from tim and his great family as we value the fact he is extremely loyal unlike some other top10 pick candidates we had to consider.

what we want form tim is something were not worried about right away but is a bit of consistency, he shows sometimes he can fade into games and start slow like his Elimination Final against the Eastern Rangers which we saw him gather the ball 17 times in the second half to star to finish the game with an impressive BOG in the end in our eyes.

besides consistency if tim shows that his current above average endurance from multiple sport background can translate we want to work on his clearance work and he will work with one of his idols lenny hayes in the film room

conclusion
tim will be elite, were sure of that, although past management has shown to reach on top10 picks we feel confident that this is a value pick compared to a reach as we assume the mix between his different skills will provide a xfactor that GWS actually needs.

i called this a long time ago and even a month ago people thought it was controversial, when will people listen to me
