He had no one to kick it to. This was the worst st Kilda team of the last 20 years. No heart, no skill. Overpaid spuds with no pride in the jumper
You shouldn't keep things like that pent up inside of you..........it's not good for you....

Two things can be true at once: Jake did dumb shit and had a poor attitude, he also busted his ass for this club, and we let him down badly

Yup. Wish we could have seen him play in that semi against the Tigers.

Paddy would have helped too.

Does someone have this article?
Ryan will be looking to continue a streak of every Eagles premiership player snaring a win in their first outing against their old club this century, a 10-player list that includes Chris Judd, Ben Cousins, Willie Rioli, Tom Barrass and Jack Darling.

It would be very St Kilda to lose

Interesting segment from champion data, Hoyney on SEN today when reviewing our form line/trends:
  • We got lumped with sides with most difficult opening fixtures, and also needing improvement across both attack and defence.
  • Improvement has been slight/marginal, across defence which was bottom 4 last year, and attack remains at level with last year.
  • We’ve got 4 players inside top 50 (Sinclair, Wilkie, Nas and Hall).
  • Number of players in younger core (Tauru, Philipou, Travaglia) sitting outside top 300, some have improved (Owens and Garcia) but still not top line, and others still need to make a jump (Windhager, Wilson).
  • Kenny Hinkley doesn’t see Windy at half back working, need to get him back to playing inside mid. Champion Data agrees.
  • Kenny also spoke of Pou, sees his vision as his strength, and believes he’s an elite talent who will be an inside mid, just not ready to withstand AFL pressure in tight with his disposal.
  • Realistically, need some younger players to start to jump for recruits to become effective.

Really like Hinkley since he has stop coaching the pear.

Finally some analysis and not just half arsed shock jock media opinion based on W/L aka Garry Lyon or Cornes..
So no surprises why Joey etc all say consistently- we aren’t top 6 this year just because we recruited 4 senior players in
It’s balls and all in on the kids Tauru, Pou (Ken’s vision comment is interesting he does see it out of traffic on occasion well..) Wilson, Garcia, Windhager, (to midfield I agree) , Boxhaul, Travaglia. That’s where the jump has to come from IF we lose guys like Wilson we are in trouble
Listening to how Dees use a tall winger like Langford …I’m also keen to see what Banfield can do and I’m bullish on Fincher and Dodson
They won’t all jump but if 2-3 go A grade …Hall level …we are on
If they don’t ….deep shit
At least Lyon is playing them for a crack to have a future compare that to pretending we were contenders under Ratten and Richo and we are light years ahead
We have to remain patient and need some injury luck
And we’ve had a bloody tough draw

Couldn’t agree more with Ken on Windy, some of our coaching this year has been head scratching. Lyon himself has said that the reason we got rid of Steele was the Dees game last year being the handing over the keys in the midfield and specifically name dropping Windy and Hall. Then proceeds to barely play them in there, bizarre.

"An elderly man" is a strange description for a murder suspect, makes it sound like he bashed him with his Zimmer frame. I guess it was 14 years ago.

And putting Brendan's age is weird too. Is 55 the age he would have now if he's still alive, (unlikely unless Barry is his stepbrother) or the age he was at the time he disappeared and he'd be 69 now?

Hopefully this new event will bring some closure, it must be horrible when someone you love just disappears and you don't know what happened.

A 72-year-old man has faced court charged with the murder of a St Kilda football champion's brother, who went missing more than a decade ago.

Colac man Brian James Hall appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court this afternoon charged with the murder of Brendan Breen, the brother of Barry Breen, who was last seen in Melbourne on April 12, 2012.

Victoria Police alleged Mr Hall murdered Mr Breen in Toorak in April, 2012.

Police said Mr Breen was reported missing by his former spouse on May 9, 2012, after she became concerned when he cancelled dinner at the last minute by text message.

Authorities said Mr Breen then stopped answering her phone calls.

"They were initially unsure whether Brendan had chosen to disappear of his own accord," a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

"A public appeal was also issued, however, this did not lead to any further information about Brendan's whereabouts.

"Despite a number of enquiries over the next few years, Brendan could not be located."

In October 2018, Victoria Police reviewed the case after Mr Breen did not attend his daughter's funeral, which his family believed to be out of character as the pair were close.

Police said detectives concluded Mr Breen's disappearance was suspicious and that he had most likely met with foul play.

Victoria Police said Mr Hall was arrested at his home in Colac this morning, where he was interviewed and charged with the murder of Mr Breen.

Mr Hall was remanded into custody after facing court.

He will reappear in court in July.
