Was talking to an old tiger fan at work yesterday that resides in Mildura. somehow Richo entered discussions, and the fella said, ya know for a long time I didn't think much of him, his petulance et al...I quipped yeah, I reckoned the tide of public opinion turned that time he fronted up against Ess, 1 week after a fractured eye socket, pins stitches still fresh, was BOG and only the hand of god was between the tiges and a much needed WIN...
No, he said , wasn't that for me ...not long after the horror car accident that killed a few teenagers, Rich and ESS played a pracy match to a packed local ground. After the match..the locals mobbed the players and got a few autographs, in good time the players all made their way to the change rooms with the exception of ONE man...you guessed it, the great man remained for over an hour until he signed every man, woman and childs autograph book and went straight to the bus that was ready to depart.
Gee I miss him when I hear that, I don't think a player has left a bigger pair of shoes to fill than this bloke. Look forward to his book lauch later this year, I'm sure there will be a few stories just like this one
