I like to sit higher up so you can see overall player movement properly and don't really enjoy sitting right against the fence much anyway, just playing devil's advocate a bit in saying that you guys may have had a good deal at Subiaco. To be fair most would have been long time members that got in early though.

Fair call - we used to sit in Blk 243 (premium behind the goals where Daniel Wells kicked his Jackie Chan goal... right in front of me it was!!!), then we asked to be moved so the kids could be closer to the action. That was 2004, and we were always gobsmacked that we got 5 seats together right there on the wing - esp after our first finals appearance - and that the seats were cheaper than the ones we had come from.

Still a hike of $600 for two tickets is a bit rich, and doesn't quite give us 'like for like'...

God knows how the back rows of ground level of the 3 tier stand (214-8) were classed as standard. I sat there just once for the Port final and comfortably the worst seats in the ground. Miles from the game, can't see the ball when kicked high in the air because of the level above, no leg room (even for someone 5'9"), the walkway behind in the stand about 3 meters wide. I hate to think what would've happened if a fire started in that piece of crap.

Purple dynamite, how bad is the sun around that 301-309 area if you know?

I'm assuming it was because it had a roof overhead. I was in 216 and 2 rows from the start of premium seats or whatever they were. I always assumed the reason my seats were budget and 2 rows behind were premium was because of the shelter.

Hi Purple Dynamite hope you can help with a question. A couple of the older people in our group are worried about how cold it might get way back under the second tier (Section 142, row 20) as they've been to games at the MCG where they have sat in similar seats and practically froze to death.

I have some sympathy for them. Have some bad memories of Waverley "Arctic" Park back in the '80's.
They are sweet seats but expensive. Row 20 puts you under tier 2 so wont get wet or sun. Will be able to see both screens as well. As for temp, you should be quite well sheltered from the wind. And there is a micro brewery directly behind blocks 142 to 144.

Calling BS, you just wanted to get a close up look at Pav's physique every week.

haha - there might have been a bit of that involved. It was a bit of a lottery, and I didn't realise we'd hit the jackpot. Who could've known quite what the view would be when he was kicking from the 50m arc towards the city goal? Like three points of a straight line - me, Pav's arse, goals... :thumbsu:

Next question for you is what is behind block 122? Glass enclosure that fills that block but neither of the neighbouring ones.

Really the people that had seats in the first front rows on the wings at Subi and it still being classed as only a 'standard' instead of a Premium ticket imo should probably count themselves as having a past 'lucky oddity' at the old ground. Really not surprised that that classification has gone, especially with the fence higher some of those rows in a way don't even exit anymore at Burswood.

My membership when I was there was at the back of 311 was 'Premium'..
I do count myself lucky. I've had lots of memorable moments sitting on that fence. You've never really experienced a loss until you're sitting on an old wooden bench drenched to the bone at the final siren.

At the back of that block is a glass room that will house the players that arent playing or on the injury list. During the construction i called it the harley bennell box. Here's hoping he never sees the inside of it though. There is a reciprocal one for the eagle players at 114.

From 5 rows back in Block 153 on the wing (you can almost hear the sweat from the players' brows as it hits the grass beneath their feet); to row 12, block 520 in the heavens. From paying $800-something for two tickets per year, to $1598.

Like for like????

Not paying that. If I can't get decent seats in a price range I feel comfortable with, it might be the first time in the history of the club that I become a Purple Army member, and just pick and choose a handful of games and just buy tickets throughout the season...

Ouch, that hurt. :'(

If it's any consolation, I was moved from Row 17 near the aisle of 101/100, up to Row 18 in 520. So better seats than you at Subi, to worse seats than you at the new joint. The system stinks.

I've even more disgruntled after reading there is a microbrewery behind 142-144. I will try to move there considering 116-118 seems to be a mystery zone where nobody is allowed to be.

It's funny isn't it. I get allocated 143 but want to move (not paying $999). I reckon block 517-519 will suit me fine. Happy to pay $799.

Someone else gets 520 and wants to move to where I was allocated.

Problem is, when I log in on 2 Nov to change, all those seats I want will be occupied already....

116-118 gonna be Rich rugby/mma/Soccer etc fans 'interested' in AFL bused in on official AFL sanctioned coaches from the Cas. So its gonna be empty.

Would love to get opinions on my groups allocation. At Subi we were in block 107 (v close to where the players used to run out onto ground from and we would wait for them at the end of the game to come off). My young fella loved it there cos he could see all the players go on/off and see them warming up on the boundary.

We've been allocated Section 114 Row 5 at the new stadium. I'm a bit concerned that we may cop some sun during the afternoon games. I also can't figure out if the players race is right next to us or if that's the opposition teams players race or just dugouts???

Yeah that pretty much sucks. At least the price range for you is similar. There's always that...

The system they've chosen to use is the most uncommon sensical (not a word exactly but I'm mad) they possibly could have IMO. They've tried to allocate seats from a completely different stadium with different tiers and dimensions, and now wonder why people are pissed about the allocations they get? We've moved pockets completely with the allocation. Better yet, we can't change until others change their allocation, even know our priority period is this Friday as we're 20 year members. We may have to wait until the end of November potentially and still might not get the seats we want. So what priority do we really get? The off chance we actually like their completely different allocations and accept them?

The common sense approach would have been open slather, pick your seats you want, based purely on length of membership. Like what the priority access system now is, however actually giving the members priority to something useful. If you want your same or equivalent seats, then you choose yours, not get allocated by the club which are completely different anyway. Sorry end rant but it makes my blood boil how stupid the current system is.

Purple dynamite, can you help with what the front row seats are like in first tier for viewing. They say restricted viewing but I have gone from front row 320 at subi to row 20 334 at new stadium.
Cheers

The only restriction at the front row - tier 1 would be the steel bar balustrade.
I personally don't think there is a bad seat in the house.
Just sun, weather and screen viewing factors that you need to take into account.

I thought that FFC was following a system in allocating seats at the new stadium. Seems I was mistaken. We have been allocated equivalent seats but I now find out we have been moved into the middle of a row when we previously had direct aisle access for one of our group who needs it. Today I get access to the Preview function that allows me to see what seats are available if I want to change, and low and behold it tells me that the only seats available are the scraps left over after FFC have allocated seats. So much for being a 20 year member who is supposed to have priority access. The only priority I will get is access to the leftovers. Contacted the membership team today, waited 40 minutes on phone, to be told yeah that's the way it is and their only solution was to keep trying everyday after the priority period opens to see if any seats that I may be interested in become available. Why couldn't the club just have asked each member what seating they might be interested in after we had a chance to take the virtual tour and allocated accordingly based on years of membership?

Completely agree. What they have done is a joke. It seems almost everyone is unhappy with the location and/or price of their allocated seats.

Person A wants to go where Person B is. And vice versa. But neither of them can move because both spots will show up as allocated.

There should be an option right now to immediately reject your allocation without finding new seats first (and without giving up your priority access).

How would that be different from just finding new seats or opting out? Whether you reject the seats now or when your period for change opens up the result is the same.
Also consider that the reason why it seems everyone is unhappy is that it is the unhappy ones talking about it. From my perspective it all went fine, only qualm is the pricing.
