Stand up, be loud and be proud

Screw 2012. Screw hoping for a win.

The reason we must, we have to keep turning up is for this club.

I respect Richmond supporters for their turning up, no matter how garbage they are. Week-in, week-out, Richmond still got solid crowds even when they were at their lowest ebb.

We have to be the same way. We have to show our support every single time we have a home game, and at the away games too. Carlton have the We Are Carlton crap. Well we don't represent every part of Melbourne, but I'll sure aim to make it hell for the opposition every time we step on the field.

Just give me 3 or 4 days, then I'm sure I'll agree with this, right now I'm still in therapy after last night

My brother and I are at every game played in Melbourne year in, year out. No matter what ladder position we will be cheering on the team.

I thought this was a gay rights thread for a minute!!!!!!

Good stuff fellas. Players, coaches, administrators come and go. We, the supporters, are the one constant at the club.

Thick and thin!

While I admire the positivity didn't you start a thread based on pretty much this sort of stuff yesterday?

If your favourite band started putting out some really bad albums and only played their terrible songs at live gigs, would you still keep going to see them? No. Don't see why it's any different when it comes to our football club.

I'll give them my support at games when i receive something worthwhile in return.

Danny Frawley may have been a poor coach for us. But there is one line he said which I really liked. "We may not make the eight but we are determined to shape it".

I see what you're saying but a footy club is slightly different - more like a family member's (or a really good friend's) band that you have to stick with through thick and thin, even if you don't dig the music.

Probably the best way to look at it. :thumbsu:

Damn straight.

As far as I'm concerned, we ARE the club.

And that's why I'll never be going anywhere.

In this battle all the way, until things improve, or we're all left hanging on the wire in the attempt.

Does anyone else think this thread title is about growing a moustache and marching?

You mean like this?

I'd put up the opening to Blackadder goes forth to go with that... but I can't be bothered! ;)

Us members should unite in one mass on demon headquaters and demand someone from the board account for this club.

Italian style throwing of firecrackers at the players during training?

I will be there for sure, like i always am. Geez saturday was hard though.

I only hope that the players feel this shite about it. because i feel really empty atm, wont stop me showing my support.

I go every week I can get there. I'm loud as hell because I ****ing love the MFC, I love the passion our supporters throw out and while I may not be loving the playing group I'm happy to cheer for any player wearing the red and blue. If we don't give the players as much support as we can muster than we aren't any better.

I don't get this logic. They're not simply there to entertain us. We as supporters have to stick by the team more than ever and get to every game possible.

It's a pretty bang on and succinct analogy of a fair weather supporter.

Barring a few, there is a systemic lack of effort amongst the players at the moment. That lack of effort is the only possible reason 186 occurred. It can be the only reason that weekend debacle did too. Poor skills, bad coaching, lack of talent - however galling, I can accept and become accustomed to this. I can't accept lack of effort. I won't stand behind or support it. Some of the current players need to be immediately dismissed and their remaining contracts paid out. Davey, Moloney, Sylvia for starters. So-called leaders of this club are beyond pathetic, embarrassing. I am starting to actively dislike a lot of the team. Its so shit. They don't deserve you guys

I know Richmond have stood by their mob over the last 30 years. Good luck to them, they've turned the corner. Its only by the law of averages that finally they've selected a decent coach with development skills and some decent youth. But they've only waited 30 years, we're nearing 50. An whilst its likely I will remain a financial supporter of the club, i cant justify turning up to watch this team in its current state. They are a ****ing joke.
