The joke where a loose-labia'd Barbara Bush strides Rush Limbaugh's face had me in stitches

Not sure that was a joke. Just a factual anecdote ;)

Love Bill but in my honest opinion, he was a better incisive social commentator than he was a pure comedian.

My reaction to him was always "****, right on brother" rather than pure "OMG... I am dying here, I can't breathe".
Yeah, that's kinda how I feel about George Carlin. I don't see Carlin as a comedian per se.

I do find Hicks amusing. I've watched most of his stuff plenty of times so I don't 'lol' anymore but I still see the comedic brilliance in his structure and delivery.

Shame that more people don't know about Hicks. A true prophet.

Yeah, Bill (like Carlin and Lenny Bruce) was insanely edgy and provocative in his time too, which has to be appreciated.

I don't understand people who heckle comedians, every half decent one will destroy you especially Jimmy Carr he goes out of his way and derails the whole show just to berate a heckler for 5 minutes

Always loved Rich Hall's work, just brilliant deadpan.

Bill Burr is currently top of the tree for mine. Nothing groundbreaking, just the perfect mix of social commentary to compliment his angry man delivery.

Also gave one of the best tirades back to a heckling crowd you'll ever see (search Bill Burr Philly). 3 specials are all on YT, could do worse then giving them a watch.

Yeah Bill Burr is quality, love his style.

He appears on Conan a fair bit which is where I discovered a lot of the best American stand ups, Louis CK and Jim Gaffigan used to appear on there pretty regularly too. The best ones don't even do stand up, they just go on as guests where they basically just do their stand up jokes sitting down with a bit of chit chat with Conan and some promo stuff thrown in.

Todd Barry was another Conan regular from his New York days, very dry sarcastic style.

Yep, gotta pick ya targets. When living in Manchester we used to go to a comedy club, "The Frog & Bucket" for "RAW" - new comedians. Heckling was fun!!!

Dr. Ken goes alright, love his comedy more in the Hangover though.

Forgot to mention Al Murray, saw him in London in 2001 at his Pub Landlord show which was selling out there like nobodies business.

He just sends up the typical obnoxious racist English pub landlord that hangs shit on every nationality bar England.

Went there on the recommendation of a Saffer mate at work, his other recommendation was don't sit in the first few rows, sage advice.

I've never found Stephen K Amos funny in the slightest or Lenny Henry for that matter.

Before you accuse me of racism I'm a huge Dave Chappelle fan.

I'm also a fan of Alonzo Bodden who won America's Last Comic Standing or You Think You Can Stand Up or some other reality talent show bullshit but he's got the comic skills to pay the bills.

It's fun to have a little banter with a celebrity if you don't mind getting destroyed and can take a joke :)

bill burr is ****ing gold. he's hardcore. no prisoners.

tommy tiernan is a ****ing legend too.

Talking about michelle smith and her "alleged" drug taking to win 4 gold medals in 1996.... "She couldn't even swim the week before... she was just passing by the pool ooo yeah i'll give it a go... She had so many drugs it was a ****ing miracle the poor girl didn't desolve when she jumped into the pool"

Probably to mainstream for this thread but Stephen K Amos has been a favourite of mine for years. Been to a few of his shows, and he never fails to disappoint.

Saw him at the Fringe here in Adelaide earlier this year. Fantastic show.
