He knew Gubby was under investigation? How do you know this exactly, considering the story didn't come out until well after we had hired him and given him his current role?

The club told me.... and you.... in a press statement.

This latest debacle is massive. . . . Surely we have to think about life after Ed?

Can we just go back to sculling a beer whenever Caro writes a negative story about Collingwood, just like we normally do?

Of course if someone stuffs up then they need to be held to account ...

... but nobody has stuffed up (yet)

You're talking as if you are any inside knowledge of what the club plans? What contingency plan did they have in place in case this happens?

The guy is a great operator, he has been involved in a number of premierships, including at Collingwood, and he is a collision man through and through.

You are jumping at shadows to the point that it isn't even funny.

Inside knowledge?
The club told us that they knew prior to hiring that he was under investigation.
We also know that the 3 involved will face likely ASADA bans which to me, is irrelevant.

What is relevant is that Balme left because of this.... Don't try and tell me that's not true.
What is also relevant is that we hired a guy under investigation of hiding a kid under suspicion of ingesting performance enhancing drugs in a period where Essendon has been torn apart and we ourselves have lost two players to that exact thing.

Are you ok? Like, is your cerebrum in good nick?

Liver disease is covered in our membership package isn't it?

You realise this is why I'm an alcoholic?

What is relevant is that Balme left because he wasn't doing his job properly.

Don't let the truth get in the way of a good rant wicksy.

wicksy however you feel, whatever the rights or wrongs of the great gubbyness conundrum, Ed won't ever resign, retire, remove himself.

Whether Ed is right or wrong, he sees himself and Collingwood entwined, and he defines himself as Collingwood. This is just my opinion.

This to me is a separate issue. But unless there is a challenge, a new board, Ed ain't going anywhere. Won't happen.

Should our Club be captive to any one person, now that is another entirely different question? There was Collingwood before Ed, there was Collingwood during a Eds time, there will be Collingwood long after Ed leaves this mortal coil.

I also think Ed did not save Collingwood, he he was very important, vibrant, did a lot of good things but its mythology he saved the Club. The AFL would never ever have allowed Collingwood to sink, we are too much of a cash cow to become Fitzroy. Too many supporters for the AFL to allow us to disband. Imagine junking a generation of your biggest fan base? Was not going to happen.
Yes Ed played a vital role, but our huge numbers ensured our survival. Moot point anyway.

How long is too long? That's a fair debate.

Doubt this is the issue to get worked up over, Gubby here or Gubby gone well still be fronting up week 1 v Bulldogs. And Ed will still be the head honcho.

Do you think I could get a six pack of Coopers on the PBS?
Why not.
Medicine is medicine

Delicious drop too.

(Not advocating alcohol consumption for horses, not unless they are bad horses)

This is going to get ugly. Caro's going to wind Eddie up again over this and Eddies head is going to explode

Caro has always had issues with drugs in footy and all the people involved in it. In reality, she just can't handle different personalities.

eddie will not be sacked over this, and if gubby gets a back dated sentence or a short one he will not be sacked either
but it will depends on how the afl acts, and if found guilty. to many if's yet to draw any proper conclusions

Don't remember seeing this in a club presser... Or anywhere else for that matter.
