I appreciate the trouble you have gone to with this post, and I am aware of the quality people we have on our Board. As it should be. Saying that, I was very disappointed in the Eddie 'Caro drowning' incident (I don't wish to reopen that rancorous discussion), and I assumed he was taken to task for that by the Board.

But on the contrary, I was advised by someone who knows a bit about this that the opposite was the case. The Board did not - again I was advised - censure him at all. They did not, and do not, stand up to him. I really hope I have that wrong.

The board are all hand picked appointees of Ed. For good or ill, I would not be expecting independent thought or oversight. They are his instruments, not his check and balance.

And yet for all of that, still I repeat, she is not always wrong.

But I also know I would not want to be her. As painful as life's journey can be, at least I can console myself with the thought that I at least try not to make anyone else's life worse. I doubt she has the same consolation, nor cares to.

I know it means nothing but personally I will be very disappointed if he lets the "bastards" win this one.

A lot of politics at play at the moment and besides some of his gaffs Eddie was always a magnificent Politician.

He needs to step up whatever that may entail.

When you read the article, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat x over a hundred, can people put into context Ed's last bad gaff and at least have understanding and forgiveness. And he's not Robinson Crusoe, plenty of other have been in the same gun, Swan, Gubby, Hird, Brayshaw, have been a few others.
