Hocking was not seen totally as someone you used to put a hard tag on the opposition. If anything the recent sucess of Lonergan would be putting more pressure on Hocking to gain a spot as he would have to replace either Sam or Jobe to get a job in the middle.
Hocking has also played some good games at half back in the VFL.

Yeah, with Lonergan and Welsh going through the middle it makes it a lot tougher for someone like Hocking imo.

I can't see Hocking playing off the HBF as you need a bit of run and carry in the AFL and he's not your prototype hbf.

He'll be useful back-up who will put pressure on Welsh and/or Sammy to play well.

Welsh was lucky the roof of the Dome was open before the game and it got some rain onto it, slowing down the pace of the game. I will give credit when its due he did do well but guys dont get carried away with his performance too much. As for Stants, going well has bounced back very hard from his earlier performances in the year.

I noticed that too but at least we can all see what quality disposal Stanton could have each week. Some very nice passes to Lucas, Neagle and Reimers in particular were fantastic. Watson on the other hand, boy oh boy does he frustrate me at times. His kicking was shocking, he shanked about all his kicks and most resulted in either turnovers, or goals. He does great work inside, but he needs to work on his kicking, and quickly. Another problem he has is that the opposition always intercept his handballs and know that he will most likely be looking to give it off

I am a fan of Jobe, due to his hard work around the packs and his genuine desire to compete (compared to guys like Lazycock) but his kicking is repulsive and if you watch closely it's all in the head, his technique (however not great) is still ok and if you think back to the NAB cup and the first few rounds of the year it seemed his kicking had improved somewhat, but since it has gone completely backwards. It's disappointing as now it seems he is a very poor mans Scott West

Welsh had a beuty. Jetta was great too, that's to all those that wanted him to be dropped for this game.

Jetta having a great game is a matter of opinion. I thought his workrate and effort was pitiful... I don't give an F about how many tackles, what about those tackles he didn't make because he was watching the play?

Jetta shows a little bit of skill but I've yet to see anything that suggests he's ready for AFL.

He has the X-Factor thats for sure, He still needs to work on the fundaments of the AFL game though.

Welsh was only one tackle short of the all time record!

This new role might save his bacon! He's been good as a defensive forward too, so he's certainly got more than one string to his bow. Loved his intensity, without the over-the-top stuff which results in silly free kicks.

Rapt to see him and Stants do well.

I agree completely.

Apart from the run down tackles, Jetta's rarely stick and more often than not he still allows the opposition to get the handball out...

Will be a player but he is costing at the moment. In my opinion. This isn't a bad thing - he just needs more time.

Winders and Houli come back in, as does Lovett - Perhaps Myers will rotate through the V/AFL for the rest of the season, but who else? Barring injuries, I would suggest Jetta will spend a few weeks in the VFL.

It seems his best position is yet to be defined.....I would prefer HOcking and Hislop at this stage (when fit) to be getting Leroy's AFL game time...

I would not like to see
