Time to rank the saga films.

1. Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. The Force Awakens
6. The Rise of Skywalker
7. Attack of the Clones
8. Pantom Menace
9. The Last Jedi
Good shout bombers, I like it

I love some of the scenes, I love some of the themes, little callbacks and references... It's not a good film arguably, but it's very nearly a great Star Wars movie and I commend JJ on pulling it together.

It's so good to leave the movies after seeing a Star Wars and feeling passionate and positive about it.

There's minor things I would change, huge opportunities that were missed, but I think there would be reasons. I was talking to someone earlier who suggested that revival from death is strictly dark side power, which it why Kylo/Ben could do it, but then as the tragedy goes, he could save others from death, but not himself. Personally I would have had him survive, and meet Rey on the farm at the end. Even something like his ghost hand reaches out to hold hers at the end as the movie ends.

Ah I dunno, I just hope there was better reasons behind it than 'Rey is awesome and must be the sole winner'.

Kylo alone of the Death Star then Han showing up. Lando arriving with the fleet. Rey scavenging through the Death Star than again at the homestead. JJ knew what he was doing, some campaigner just ****ed it in the middle of his vision.

I'm happy to call this 8&9

Adam Driver is a champion. These are his movies. People should look at him now how we look at Ewan McGregor in the PT, but do it now, not a decade later.

There's not a bad thing I can say about his performance in the ST and what he done with Kylo/Ben.

Easily one of the best actors in Hollywood

This is easily the best of the ST. I nearly love it.

How anyone can be throwing a wobbly that it's 'too safe' (it isn't) but they were all ok with TFA literally being a remake, I won't understand.

It's safe in the sense that I'm surprised the angry ranters on Twitter at Rian Johnson aren't credited as part of the writing team.

What about the angry ranters against RJ on bigfooty?

For the last two years all we have heard is that TLJ was a runaway success and the haters are nothing more than a small minority of noisy basement dwelling fanbois. Sticking with it's direction would have been safe.

Fixing mistakes... going against a film that has like 90% on shit tomatoes... that was a risk.

Uh, sure.. Them too? Not sure what your point is. I'm saying the plot is desperately trying to appease the fans. That makes it safe.

How on earth is doubling down on a controversial film in any way safe?

Again, see the bit where all reports from people involved and media were like just telling everyone the film is great and the haters are just that.

At no point until recently was anyone in the system acknowledging that maybe TLJ ****ed up in a few areas.

Now it's trying to be spun that lots of the fans hated it when that was never the story at the time.

TLJ has 43% audience score on Rotten Tomato
ROS has 86%

I think you are looking at the wrong numbers

IN all fairness when I first saw TLJ when it came out I thought it was shit.

I had a second viewing a couple of days later and I still thought it was shit.

I rewatched it on Disney+ on Friday before I went to ROS to give it another chance and it was still shit.

I also like the prequel trilogy and Solo.

Humour - Not sure if Rian is just immature, or that's his style, but there were less forced jokes (they fly now aside), and the work by Anthony Daniels was fantastic. (That look over his shoulder got the biggest laugh of the whole movie).
Seriously, it’s because RIAN is a ****ing nerd - he’s clearly socially awkward and a massive tosser with a terrible sense of humor.

This is all really just semantics at this point, but I think it's absurd to think that ROS being a crowd pleaser means it's anything other than a safe movie to get things back on track.
