I got my Merc to 50 on Christmas day, and have really geared him up, almost up to valor level 40 in pvp too. Also have a 30 Sorc, 22 Marauder, 15 Juggernaut, 8 Operative and 12 Sage, so ... I'm obviously loving it enough to play it like a madman.

It still has some major flaws, there's not a hell of a lot to do at max level, and item sets dont show what their set bonus is until you buy the piece.

If you wipe on a boss that has a chest, instead of looting it from the mob, then you can't open the chest. Also if you die just as you finish a dungeon, you're booted outside and can't loot the boss.

PVP on Ilum is borked and I can't see their new changes fixing it, it's laughable when someone less than level 45 tries to kill me in PVP (thankfully that's getting fixed), but I enjoy the warzones they have in right now.

TL:DR - Good start, but lots to improve and implement (like legacy stuff, im already legacy level 18 and all I got was a surname)
 
Got this not long ago and I'm currently a lvl 16 jedi sentinel playing the dark side of course, hoping to destroy the republic from the inside (if possible).
 
I'm a lvl 23 Jedi Sentinel and really liking it so far.

Played WOW for a bit but it got boring and seemed like you had to grind a lot to finish every quest. At least with TOR it's a lot more story based and the grinding quests are disguised as 'bonus' quests and are optional.

I thought I played this game a bit, and got a level 24 Operative, and Level 17 Sentinel.

Love the game, extremely addictive. I love the KOTOR 1 and 2 though and was addicted to that as well.

Newp, I work full time as a Software Developer. I just have no life outside of work or gaming.
 
If you're trying the game for the first time definitely roll on a PVP server. Far more populated servers which means it should be easy finding groups to do flashpoints and heroics. It doesn't help because of our timezone either but rolling on a PVP server will help. (Just be careful of the ganks!)
 
Have been enjoying the old PVP servers until the other night, where a group of lvl 37 Siths simply killed me, waited me to return (on my way to the quest) and then killed me again
 
Some republics have occasionally chain-ganked my guild leader while levelling. As in, stealth behind him, wait until he attacks some mobs and then 3-4 of them unstealth and gank him.

Our general response is for 5-6 50's from my guild to wander over, kill them, and then wander over to the nearest republic base and kill everyone in sight for about half an hour. They leave him alone for a few days after each time we do that.
 
Thinking of buying this but have a couple of questions..

1. Is it like Knights of the Old Republic, etc?

2. Does it only work online and that, because a lot of talk on here is going into servers and so on and not completely sure.

1. Yes it is exactly like KOTOR except on a larger scale and most of the quests (class) you do by yourself and there are also group quests.

2. It is only online, there are quite a few servers in USA and Europe to choose from with some being either PVP, PVE or PVC servers and the character you create can only be accessed through the server you originally created him/her on.

So how is everyone going?

I finally hit 50 on my shadow and have started the slow grind for pvp gear with limited success. Started off with one piece of Champion gear from 25 bags in a week and then gained 2 more from 6 bags yesterday. Sitting at 3 Champion items from ~32 bags so not too bad but still bloody frustrating.

Spent a couple of hours in normal mode EV on the weekend and enjoyed it. The bosses were fun and I scored a couple of items from it, but the pillars seemed to be bugged and then I ran out of time.

If any lowbies want a hand with anything I am more than willing to run people through the lower level dungeons as I need the social points so I can wear the pilots gear. Character name is Chinawhite.

With the PVP gear it can be very very random. I went 4 pieces out of my first 10 and then was averaging about 1/16.

The pillars in EV vault normal aren't bugged, but if you wipe once then you have to reset the instance. They're annoying on HM and NM where you have to complete each ring within seconds of each other.

The changes to PvP gear will be a godsend. Having a visible and clear goal will make progress feel like progress.

Did EV normal again yesterday and the pillars were easy. Soa was not. Bug after bug after bug. And a few times it didn't bug we ****ed up somewhere. Got him down though and I left the place with Columi chest and legs plus 2 duplicates.

Good fun!

I've had Soa bug on me once where platforms and pieces of the floor were missing. Once you've done Soa once though he's fairly easily. The only iffy part in the end is the positioning of Soa in stage 5.
 
Although that'll all be worthless if they can't work out how to patch the servers during each regions off-peak. 7pm-11pm downtimes twice a week is getting old.
