Number 1 draft picks dont kick clangers, they sometimes dispose of the ball to open space or opponents for the betterment of the team as a whole and also for their own tactical reasons and gain.

A very interesting read.

Good work Demonfan, some good (improved) stats compared to last year. I like to see our rankings and what not.

Just a few random team stats for the 2010 season.
  • Scored 157 more points than last year (attack sits 11th overall).
  • Still needs improvement, IMO. Should do better in 2011 with Petterd and (hopefully) Watts performing better.
  • Conceded 314 less points than last year (defence sits 8th overall).
  • Good stat. :D
  • Best percentage of all the bottom eight sides.
  • Did not suffer a single 10-goal thrashing.
  • Great to hear.
  • 7-5 record against the bottom eight sides.
  • Should be ALOT better. We shouldn't have lost to WCE and Norf twice.
  • 1-1-8 record against the top eight sides.
  • Great win over Sydney and great efforts against Collingwood (twice!), the Dogs and Freo.
  • Won interstate for the first time in four years.
  • Twice if you count Darwin, but the bloody AAMI curse remains.
Player stats:

  • Three players nominated for All Australian squad (Jamar, Green, Frawley).
  • All thoroughly deserved. Green and Frawley should definitely be in the starting 22.
  • Three players nominated for Rising Star Award (Scully, Trengove, Gysberts).
  • Great effort. Shame McKenzie didn't get a nomination though...
  • Brad Green ranked 6th for marks and 6th for goals in the league.
  • Career best season. Hopefully it continues for another few years. :D
  • Mark Jamar ranked 2nd in hitouts.
  • Outstanding year. Got tired towards the end of the year, but hopefully Gawn can come into the squad next year and give him a hand.
  • Jordan McKenzie ranked 8th in tackles.
  • Tom Scully ranked 5th in clangers.
  • This stat will improve over time.
  • James Frawley ranked 3rd in rebound 50's.
  • All I can say is 'thank God for Frawley".
  • Garland, Rivers, Frawley and Warnock all ranked in the top 17 for one-percenters.

Brad Green aside, the other four players missed a few weeks with injury or from (Jurrah missed over half the season). We get all these players fit and firing next year along with Petterd, our forward line will be come a lot more potent.

Dunn kicked 21.8 after his return from Casey, he needed to work on his goal kicking which he did. Dropping players back to Casey to work on deficiencies is a luxury we haven't had over the previous 3 years.

Struass, Blease, Gysberts, Tapscott, Bail will all be putting pressure on other players to perform next year and keep their spot in the side.

Thanks for the stats DF 9, What about the other key stat that Bail's wanted to see a major improvement with, Quarters won... There was a improvement last year on the previous year & Bail's holds this stat as a key to where we are at...

That comes to 1.1 a game which doesn't seem to be all that much but we did have a few games in the wet & a couple of tight low scoring games.

I think we won 36 quarters this year and if memory serves me correctly, it was 32 last year.

So not a great improvement there which is surprising, given we won an extra 4.5 games compared to last year but only 4 more quarters.

It was a great effort by Dunn. I think many had almost written him off (myself included) but he came back and really turned it on. One thing which I was often critical of was his goalkicking; that's now improved dramatically.
