Thanks for the response on goals at one venue, Ron The Bear. When Dunstall's 17 goals in the 1992 Fosters Cup are added on it takes him to 93 for the season at Waverley.

This may well be somewhere in this thread already, but can someone please provide the player with the most games played, the player with most wins, and the player with most goals AGAINST each club?

Have any of the gurus thought of how to approach the situation if Essendon do get docked points?

i.e for the 22 players who played for Essendon when they beat Melbourne by 148 points, will they be marked with a W or a L?

In my database it'll only affect the ladder tables. I've got a weekly ladder and a final ladder table. Maybe just the final table will need to be changed. The wins themselves will stand (I assume).

Yes, the wins will stand. If they didn't, the AFL would have to give 4 points to every team who played Essendon and lost. Intriguingly, this would leave Melbourne and GWS fighting for the spoon on 3 wins each, with Melbourne having a slight percentage lead.

My question is about forward targets. A few weeks ago a commentator was mentioning that Jeremy Cameron was targeted almost exclusively by the GWS forwards, at the expense of other players, and that he has a phenomenal goal scoring record considering his team's lack of forward fifties. I also recently watch Hawthorn v Carlton, Round 22, 2008 (the battle of the two potential Centurions, Buddy and Fevola), and a statistic popped up on screen late in the third quarter mentioning that Carlton had targeted Fevola going forwards 11 times so far that match, and no other player more than once.

My question is as such: in a single season, what is the most goals a player has achieved in a season, as a percentage of forward 50 entries for their team that season?

That is, what player is most likely to kick a goal if their team gets it in the fifty? I think Cameron would have to be up there.

Also on Essendon losing points, if they were to lose their points prior to this weekend, would they then be the official wooden spooners? Then, if they defeat Richmond and GWS lose to Gold Coast in round 23, does the spoon revert back to GWS on percentage?

If a journalist/commentator decided to, verbally or in print, refer to Simonds Stadium as Kardinia Park, or AAMI Stadium as Football Park, or to any other oval which has been renamed under naming rights by its original name, would they receive a "Please Explain" from the AFL?

When St Kilda lost the points after beating Geelong in 1909, they were given to Geelong. Poor option IMO, but I followed suit as it affected the ladder. But they also gave them the win, even though they'd lost, which was just stupid - I just ignored it. So Geelong, in beating St Kilda, hold the record for smallest win at -1 pts.

So all Essendon's wins will stand me for me.

Commentators do it all the time, the AFL doesn't really care much about slip-ups, with stadium names changing on a yearly basis it can be hard to remember what brand you're meant to be advertising this week.

If it was done deliberately, on the other hand, yeah, the AFL (or, more specifically, the company paying to be advertised) would be pissed.

The ABC only refers to the grounds by their traditional (non-commercial) names.

The ABC aren't being paid by the AFL, so there's really nothing they can do about that. I (for some reason) assumed the question was specific to official broadcasters like Seven/Fox.

The ABC is an official broadcaster on radio. I assume Seven/Fox are not being paid by the AFL either.

Wow, I really am not thinking straight today. Not sure why I said "getting paid".

I didn't realise that the ABC was an official broadcaster, I assume that they had to jump through a few more hoops than other broadcasters with the no-advertising rule.

Eh, I don't know.

I believe is most leagues when teams lose points the wins/draws/losses still stand for the club and individuals, but just the ladder is affected.

I'd like to know the mean number of wins for each final round ladder position from the 16 team era onwards. 1995-

If Collingwood and Richmond win this weekend either could be 6th with a 15-7 record. Like Geelong last year I would imagine this is significantly above the mean no of wins for 6th spot over that period.

Grrrr... at the moment the AFL site is showing Essendon as 9th but still on 56 pts - a DB (dog's breakfast). Why not make a points adjustment as well.

As it stands like that, the ignore option for me is looming again, just asterisking the disqualification from the finals.
