Sidebottom as expected, delivered on the main stage yesterday.. certainty to get picked up this year and most people would say he is almost a lock in top 10 pick. Love the way he goes about his footy (from the limited amount i've seen of him i must add)
They call him Rusty!
I absolutely love him... I've been saying I want Collingwood to draft him for months.
Don't know that I'd say "definite" Top 10, but he's definite 1st round.
Reminds me a bit of Veszpremi from last year.
Pick 15 > Kangaroos - Patty Veszpremi - 183cm 83kgs - Northern Knights (Mid)
With Archer having retired, the Kangaroos could do with some more mongrel, and they get that with Veszpremi. Quick over 20 metres with a penetrating 50 metre plus low trajectory kick. Veszpremi has incredibly clean hands and never fumbles and coupled with a love for the tough stuff, makes him an ideal selection for the Kangaroos.
your missing out mate, his a freak and got the best skills goin aroundI wrote this about Veszpremi last year Vin:
Having not seen Steele, I imagine he's hard at it, with decent, but not overly wonderful skills?
I think it's underrating both Veszpremi and Sidebottom to refer to their skills as "decent, but not overly wonderful".Having not seen Steele, I imagine he's hard at it, with decent, but not overly wonderful skills?

Both have well above average footskills, IMO.
He's not an inside midfielder like a Daniel Harris or a Sam Mitchell, but he has the kind of "get it and run" type of ability that someone like a Shaun Burgoyne possesses.i wouldn't describe him as a tough, gritty midfielder, most the hard stuff was being done by Suban and Hooper.

his got every skill possible covered mate . pin point passes 50m+ away, short passes is excellent barely misses a target no matter the distance, if u ask me its worth paying to see him play! When you say Sidebottom's skills are good, do you mean over short range (<40m), long (>50m) or both. Can he produce long, penetrating kicks? What's his pace/accleration like?
Nah, Bartel's much more naturally inside... From Geelong, he'd be more like Ablett, although that's an excessively lofty comparison, and even at my most optimistic I'd say he'll never be that good.
He's a naturally outside runner and ball carrier, but around stoppages, he will go in and get the ball out. The thing he doesn't do is just go in, wear a tackle and then feed it off to somebody else. He is generally going in for the ball if he can come out with it as well.
Sounds like someone perfect for us.Yeah, good call on ablett like in regards to his style of play, can go and get it but more like to be on the receiving end of the inside handball. If ablett is a bit lofty, maybe a comparison to travis johnstone is better, sublime skills and the in and under players look for him because they know he uses it well.
You're not going to build you midfield around him like bartel or black, he's your cream like an ablett or the extra something johnstone has given brisbane this year.
And it seems like he is going to be around the mark where we will have our pick this year.Sounds like someone perfect for us.
Judd, Murphy, Gibbs to form the core of the midfield with Stevens, Grigg, Walker, Browne, Sidebottom complementing. I like itAnd it seems like he is going to be around the mark where we will have our pick this year.
Though my preference is still a KPP with Hurley and Trengrove the leading candidates in that department.

he'd be an absolute steele out side of the top 10.![]()

love it!!![]()
Yes, yes.Just one look at the champs team lists, there's a whole raft of puns to be had.
It would be a bit Rich to say anyone was a certainty for top 3.
And a special one for you Bourky. It'd be a Heyneous crime if he went outside the top 20.
Steele might go to a side near bottom of the ladder.
