Stephen Gilham Doing Pre-Season

I heard on 5AA tonight from Andrew Jarman (North Adelaide sanfl coach) that former Port player Gilham is doing a pre-season with Essendon and that if unsuccessful in being drafted will return to North Adelaide.
Have seen a fair bit of him in the SANFL and really needs to bulk up. He made a shocking error in an SANFL final but is generally a handy defender.
His brother is apparently a gun, not sure if he is in this years draft or the next.

His brother (unless there is a third) was in last year's draft. Was highly rated and was overlooked. Same case as Stephen, key defender but not big enough.

Played in the VFL I think.

Gilham was a first round pick back in '02.

He tends to be reasonably selective depending on the opponent eg Johns (WA) is a big strong athletic jumping jack – but raw. Gilham was very clever, playing two styles in one. He sometimes didn't give Johns an inch even when ball was miles away, but occasionally played 2m or more off Johns. Johns definitely seemed distracted trying to ascertain where Gilham was or wasn’t.

Yes, Andrew Gillham. Very good player, who did well at Port Melbourne this year. Has good pace and strong hands - IMO, he would fit in at AFL level. His star faded a touch last year due to a broken arm/wrist, which saw him miss a place in the Vic Metro side.

Andrew Gilham is a an absolute star, he use to go to my school, i couldnt believe he didnt get picked up or rookie listed, there where big wraps on him.

He kills He brothers thats all i know, He would definately be worth a punt late in the draft.

Both ruckman.
Eames is a massive unit. Rix more of an athletic type.
Neither is rookie age, so I'd say their chances of getting drafted are slim.

Can't hurt to have a look, but I haven't seen a enough of them to suggest whether or not they would make it at AFL level.
