What are your favourite Stephen King adaptions? The poll is multiple choice.

Mine would be:

It
Sometimes They Come Back
The Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile

Wasn't aware that Shawshank Redemption was a Stephen King movie. Along with 'It' they would be my top 2.

I voted for The Shining but I'm not sure if it was the original...ohh well...

The original had Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall in it - awesome!

They did a remake a few years ago with Steven Weber and Rebecca de Mornay. It was crap.

Altough the remake was true to the book as king didn't like the kubrik version. And yes the remake was crap.

It, Misery, The Shining, The Stand and The Shawashank Redemption.

Fairly sure you're missing an adaptation of another Stephen King novella which I really like, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

'Stand by me' perhaps?

Shawshank, The Shining, Stand By Me are my faves.

He's had a couple of decent low budget jobs like the Dark Half and Secret Window (except the crap ending) & Salems Lot.

Cannot understand peoples fascination with the movie version of IT - no doubt its a great book (probably my favourite of his), but it has a freakin Walton in it?!
Nowhere near as spooky as the book - I can remember reading it when it first came out as a kid and literally being so spooked I had to check under my bed before I could fall asleep haha. :o

And every damned AFL footballer in the world seems to list it as their favourite film. Alright film, but not that brilliant.

Ahhh ... Stand By Me would be it most likely, if not, it's still up there as a favourite! Like The Shawshank Redemption, one of his best stories and subsequent adaptations, and both aren't actually horrors!

Liked Shawshank and Misery. Watched Langoliers not expecting much, but really enjoyed it.

Biggest disappointment was Needful Things. One of those ones where you really enjoy the book, then end up disappointed by the movie.

The Shawshank Redemption

Green Mile

Stand by me.

All great movies, however, my favourite book is the Stand, but the movie was absolute crap.

It for me, I always rather thought the clown was and what it would actually be like if it was a comedy. Immensly enjoyed the book, too.

Stand By Me - love the small town America feel and the childhood friends sentiments.

Shawshank - how many times have you watched that ?

Green Mile

My wife keeps telling me to watch The Stand, her favourite book also.

I'm a big stephen king fan, just about have all his books and movies.

Few that were I liked that were missed in the poll:
Tommy Knockers,
Secret Window,
Stand By Me,
Apt Pupil,
Quick SilverHighway,
Silver Bullet,
Rose Red,
DreamCatcher,
Dead Zone,
NeedFul Things,
Hearts in Atlantis,
Christine.

Yet i prefer "The Shinning" the mini series version.

Apt Pupil, perhaps? ;)

Quality, quality novella.

Personally, i prefer the adaptation of the Shawshank Redemption & Stand By Me ahead of IT and The Green Mile.

All 4 are quality movies, though.
