First I've heard of this, sad if true, he was one of the unsung heroes of Cold Chisel.

Was responsible for writing both these Chisel classics, two of my favourites.

Chisel and Sherbet were two Aussie bands from the 70s who were still intact and untouched by death.

Now in the space of less than 24 hours that has changed for both bands.

What an awful weekend for Australian music.

Vale Steve Prestwich.

While it's fashionable to dismiss Chisel as bogan fare, their songwriting set them apart from pub rock contemporaries. They are Australian rock royalty, and Prestwich played his part.

R.I.P.

This is terrible news. One of my drumming heroes. As said earlier, Forever Now and Flame Trees are two of the grestest ever Australian songs.

They were playing shows around sept/october, must've only been discovered recently. Must've been a short illness. RIP

A great drummer and a great song writer, I love Cold Chisel and Prestwich was a big reason why the band was great.
