As it stands he is either playing for Gold Coast, or not playing at all for 3 years.

It will be interesting to see if the Titans still think he has a contract when he decides to sit out the game for 3 years. I wonder if they will continue to pay him his $1 million?

The Titans are a bunch of f*ckwits, why force someone to play for you who obviously doesn't want to? I wish death upon their organisation.

Or at least Michael Searle. ;)

I agree with you 100%. I'm sure the Storm are willing to negotiate some sort of compensation to satisy them.

It's just frustrating when somebody that is so passionate about staying in Melbourne is being forced out.

Before anybody says it I realise he was the one who agreed to move in the first place but he's young and he's had a change of heart.

Common sense would suggest that if somebody doesn't want to play your club they aren't going to perform at their best.

More Anti-Storm by the ****ING NRL!

yep with the titans admin at this point in time, they are seriously going to have to change their way of thinking or they are going to be a massive failure, that would be oh so sweet

It's quite funny how the Titans have Steve Turner on their web-site as a member of their team with a profile and everything.

Oh and Michael Searle reminds me of Peter Jackson or Michael Moore. :)

Piss off you dumb-arse.

He agreed to terms with the titans, therefore he should uphold that. I think it is a great stance by the new organisation - they are showing they are not going to be pushed over.

Abuse removed.

Keep it clean and on-topic and dont try and bring in your agendas to every post you make in this forum, Dave

I must admit, having a guy play for you who cleary doesn't want to is a complete waste of time.

But it was gunna be quite obvious who the NRL were gunna favour in the decision anyway, regardless of who was right or wrong.

The Titans didn't lodge anything with the NRL as they were supposed to. Melbourne did.

Turner must play for Titans: NRL
12:13 PM November 10

The National Rugby League (NRL) is continuing its tough stand over the playing future of Melbourne winger Steve Turner.

Turner agreed to join the Titans earlier this year, but had a change of heart and re-signed with the Storm.

NRL boss David Gallop says the NRL maintains Turner has a contractual commitment to the Gold Coast.

"If he doesn't want to play football that's his decision, but our view certainly at the moment is that he's committed to the Titans, his agent has been very firm about that as well and we certainly expect him to be playing up here," he said.

WTF? That is the bit I don't get. What the hell is his agent doing? Shouldn't he be working for his client? Who is Turner's agent anyway? I'd be giving him the flick if he isn't helping Steve's quest to stay in Melbourne.

F*cking Gallop. Die.

Gallop is a ********ING ASSHOLD, he screwed us in the GF and Screwing us Agains.

What is it, the ********ING NRL aginst the Storm.

******** Gallop!

How did he screw you in the GF?

How is he screwing you now?

Do you know the definition of a contract Dave?

he never signed the contract with the Titans, he agreed to terms but changed his mind, and actually signed with the Storm, what this has shown is how incompetent the Titans are

What has screwed Turner is that the terms that he agreed to were sufficiently clear. His only argument could have been that the terms hadn't been completely agreed - ie there was something still up in the air. In the absence of that sort of uncertainty, "agreeing to terms" has the same binding nature as putting pen to paper.

Honestly, that is the truth. If he has "agreed to terms", he has entered into a contract. Look at any definition of a contract in a legal dictionary and it will tell you that a contract can be written, oral or both provided it is clear.

NB: I don't give a stuff where he plays. I quite like the Storm and I guess I will have a soft spot for the Titans being the 3rd Qld team. As far as I am concerned, the Storm acted with less than optimal integrity, Turner needs to pull his head in and realise that he has gone back on his word and the Titans should realise that this sort of ******** up doesn't occur if you get it all in writing when it is first agreed.

That is a binding contract in any definition of the word. He agreed to terms.

How is this showing how incompetent the titans are?? They are standing up for themselves and showing great fight all ready. They had a player who agreed to terms which means they moved on and recruited other players, thinking that particular spot was filled. They are not going to be pushed around - you can't just have players changing your mind just because your team is winning. If he wasn't sure about his future, he shouldn't have agreed to the terms. It makes Turner look like a schoolboy - if things in life change, plant your feet in the ground and refuse to move. The bloke can sit out for 3 years as far as i'm concerned.
