Played pretty well tday.
Went in to the midfield on Gazza at some stage
Played ok, gets much maligned, but I reckon he was fairly good.
So was Schammer, tries his heart out and sometimes stuffs it.
But gives his all !!

Dodd was excellent defensively, gave consistent hard run through the middle, and kept crying sook Ablett accountable. Which is three things more than Mundy did.

Not really, He had that one goal, had a few good moments but left Ablett wide open when it counted. And he gave them two goals in that last.

I will normally always defend dodd because i rate his 1 on 1 defensive ability down back.

But no dodd didnt have a good game today or are you guy saying it was good because he didnt do many of his usual terrible decisions an turnovers??

He didnt tag ablett all day an was only on him for short periods when his main taggers needed a break.
When he was on ablett he was not good at all, gave him far too much space an the majority of abletts possesions were probably when dodd was on him.

Think some pay far too much attention to turnovers an not how many times dodd gets spoils in or holds his opponents to few possesions and goals when hes down back.

All of a sudden hes given a defensive role through the midfield doesnt make many real mistakes with disposal but does poorly defensively an people say he had a good game ???

at the start of the year i was one of dodd's biggest fans but these last few weeks i reckon he's been terrible. especially against port adelaide every.single.one of his kicks in the last half resulted in a turnover. his work on ablett today was shit too and let them kick those two goals at the start of the last to give them breathing space.

couple of weeks in the 2's might inspire him to work on his kicking a bit i think

I didnt think it was his worst game today but he was still average and cost us defensively at crucial times. I think he needs to be dropped because of his average form all year not just because of this game. Our lack of depth though makes it difficult to do so.

Dodd had a cracker a few weeks back defensively vs Betts, but thought he was poor on the weekend. One stoppage I was focusing on that match up, and Ablett had 4 metres space, got the ball and set up a score for the Cats.
He should be on a NO KICK rule, like Sandi was a couple of years back, I'd prefer the big fella kicking any day. One of his i50's was u/12 stuff.

It was Nah. You know the answer. Ablett. He was always away from him. When Schammer was on him - he stuck to him like glue and that was when Ablett was least influential.
