Hello All,

how would the boys handle KING next week?

apart from his direct position; blake and ottens, who else would try to get a bit roughy with him?.... BIG CAM?? Rooke??

Re: S king

If Blake & King got into a fight I'd back Kingy to win. But the prospect of the 2 meeting as opponents is just another part of next weeks game that adds some spice to the contest.

Re: S king

dont get me wrong - i love KING and was heart broken when he left.

but i think one of the boys might get roughy with him early on...just to send a massage to the opposition that nothing will stand in their way to take out the flag!

agree with you but i think the boys would jump in for blake and give it to king

Re: S king

If Mumford ran through him he wouldn't get up to quickly, I'm sure of that.

Re: S king

Guys, Blake needs to be tough this week, it wouldnt bother me to see blake ran through king and put him down for good, he might get a 2-3 weeks but who cares!

STAND UP BLAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STAND UP BLAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Opening bounce... that'd be a pretty big statement. I reckon the rest of the boys would be thinking "holy sh! did bambi actually do that?! Awesome, he's fired up, let's do this"

... but do you actually reckon Blake has got the mongrel in him to do that?

expect blake to be used as motivation for Geelong in lead up, sure all the boys would love to get him a flag after he missed in 07. king will beat blake around the ground but blake will get the better of in ruck.
By the way, would anyone else love blake to first of all beat king in a 1/1, then go back and kick a goal?? in my opinion that would be the biggest momentum changer/improver. by the way no i dont think the BFG has the mongrel to take out king

Last year there i think it was there was a bit of push and shove more so than just the normal. Was quite a bit of agro there between King and Geelong.

What would be even better is if we're down by 5 points, King infringes against Blake in a ruck contest, then remonstrates with the umpire, concedes a 50m penalty, and Blake kicks the winning goal from the top of the goal square after the siren. :p

haha would be great, but would be much more confident on the goal line, would be a little nervous from top of goal square ;)

I thought King was pretty rubbish against the Dogs and not much better against the Pies. I doubt we need to do much of anything other than get Blake to win the taps. Can King jump yet?

According to Doc Larkins on the Footy Show, his right shoulder is still stuffed, and he goes up left handed most the time.

are Kingy & Harley good mates? they didn't seem overly freindly on 1 week at a time but kingy is going to harley's wedding...

i still reckon we made a mistake by trading him - always have - i wonder if the coaches at geelong reckon they made a mistake???

I thought they were a bit awkward on the show, which isn't such a surprise, given that they'll be facing off on Saturday. One of them will walk away as a double Premiership player and much heartbreak for the other.

As for trading King, I think it's all good and well to say we should've kept him. But King has had issues with injuries. If he'd stayed at Geelong, Blake probably would've left and we would've been without a 2nd ruckmen for the periods of time when King was injured. St Kilda doesn't have this issue because they have 3-4 ruckmen to choose from. So they are better equipped to handle King's injury situation IMO.

I don't think he has the mongrel, but it'd be a hoot. It was like when he he hit the target long to the goalsquare in the last quarter and I wanted to cheer, but I could only laugh. Bambi hitting a target by foot! :D

On a more serious note, first bounce. Blake v King....some fire (of the Max Rooke type not the Barry Hall type) would be a great statement for us to send.

Of course we did...but it's not about if you make mistakes, everyone does, in footy, and in life...it's about what they cost you. So if we win the Premiership on Saturday, then the mistake really doesn't matter.

I don't believe it was a mistake.

IMO he is only a mediocre ruckman. Having king in 2008 would not have won us a premiership, and the extra space in the salary cap has probably allowed us to keep a few on that we might not have been able to otherwise.

Furthermore, we probably wouldn't know who Mumford was if King was still around. Mumford will become a much better ruckman then King.
