Poor Poor Stevie...

Ok his off-field drama's aside.

Do you remember when stevie knocked out luke power with a shirt front, against Brisbane finals, they had to drag him from the ground because of the lions wanted to rip him apart. (Man he bumps hard!)
he loves to kick his bags of 5-6 against the lions.

Do you remember when we go flogged, and i do mean flogged! by Port Adelaide in Port, finals again. The only highlight of the game for us was stevies mark over Waklin and Chad Cornes. He saw, he come, he conquered! it would of been a mark of the year contender if it wasnt the finals.

Who else can snap like Steve? The tighter the angle the more he loves it!

He is hard!
He has the skill!

Now give the kid a break!

Any other great stevie memorys please post!

My favourite quote there... 'Shirt front in the back'

Memories of fat, lazy, alcoholic Stevie...hmmmmm maybe that night at the Eureka when he tried to pick up my mates wife, beer in one hand, cigarette in the other. Classy.

No, bugger Stevie, he has to serve his punishment, then MAYBE he'll get his arse into gear. If he's let off now it'll be the vicious circle...........again.

The article is written by crackers for gawds sake!, there's one idiot trying to get another idiot to play.
All that aside I like Dog's ability but (and it's a big but) if the guy is ever going to be a consistent performer which is what we need then he must stop acting as if the AFL is a ticket to him behaving like a **************** and realise the oppurtunity that is in front of him. He's got six weeks (and the rest of the year) to prove to everyone at that club that he is team orientated and will stop at nothing to become better. I hope like hell he does but IMHO I think any improvement will be short-lived (enough to keep him at the club).

I would consider letting him train with the main group (so long has he has been putting in on the track with the vfl guys, and doing everything right) again but I would keep the match suspension in place at this stage.

If you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all!

running into goal (against either the saints/bulldogs), 20m out, directly in front, no one near him......and he kicks.....to the man on the goal line in the chest. great pass.

i remeber that... hehe he does that hard stuff but cant get the easy ones tsk tsk dog when will u get ur act together mate.

hows gamble btw? looking to benifit from dogs mistakes i think

Stick to the original punishment.

To reneg on his punishment would make the board/the leadership group look soft in the eyes of the rest of the AFL. An image we'd like to lose.

Also, his on field performance should have nothing to do with his punishment. It is not relevant.
Hear... Hear..!

I agree SJ comes alive, I love the guy. You will get a lot of people (and have) on this board preaching from the pulpit, but I can't help but love the man.

However he now must do his time, and in the second half of 07 and beyond I hope we see him week in week out playing hard with many moments of 'that' magic.

As much as we/I will miss him, he should serve his time.

He is a special talent and could be great...not just a partytrick teaser.

Hopefully this experience will be enough to wake him up and turn him into a genuine matchwinning superstar, not some punk with a few tricks up his sleeve.

Club and senior group need to stay tough, they have set the penalty and all accepted the decision.

Crackers makes some valid points, however the biggest issue is that Johnson needs to serve his penalty, and the club has taken a hard line this will win for the club in the long-term

do the crime....serve the time

we would be a laughing stock in the AFL if we suddenly decided dog has been punished enough. The leaders have to send a message to all the junior players that this crap will not be tolerated

Tommy Harley said on SEN that Dog was off the grog and has been doing everything right since the penalty was handed down.

No chance of getting an early release!!!!

Any dog will behave while he knows he's in trouble. If you let him off too early, you run the risk of him reverting to that behaviour because he hasn't had time to correctly learn new habits. Learning a new habit apparently takes about a month. That's 1 habit, not a lifestyle.

The leadership group have talked the talk now he needs to Walk the walk!
Our season's success will not depend on how Johnson reacts to this disciplenry action but his FUTURE does !
Personally I am a fan but this is a team game and we can not afford any weak links.
Go Johnno do it for yourself, the team and the supporters.
