If it wasn't for you working him hard during his "recuperating period" he should have been back 10 weeks ago:p

I shall be there also.

What time does the reserves start?

I think if Stevo get through this week, he should be put back in for the Crows against Collingwood, he will be needed and will be better for it he will need a few GOOD weeks with the Crows before the finals:D

He needs at least a couple of weeks in SANFL before he gets a recall for the Crows.

He is just too underdone. Last time he played was against Port way back in round 5. He needs a good base before he gets back to Crows.

Nope back to the Crows for Stevo before Kristie does anymore damage to him:eek:

Needs to be kicking goals for the red gold and blue not the yellow and blue:rolleyes:
OK so you want him to either break down playing for the Crows because he hasn't got enough match fitness or you want him to take someones place in the side so Stevo can play a quarter of footy while the other player who is capable of playing the whole game can go back to SANFL.

This is not the time for bringing in the underdone players. If we want to finish in the top 4 then we should go out with the best available fit team and not carry any players who cannot run out a game.

I say bring him back for the Showdown.

I'm with you on this Stiffy concering Stevo's match fitness as it would benefit no one by playing an under-done Mark Stevens in the Crows line up, providing he gets 2 good runs with the Eagles then i would bring him back for the Kangaroos game,

Personally there is no way I would bring Stevo back against the scum. We will need our best 22 on the park and at the moment he is zip chance of being in our best 22.

Let him run in the reserves this week and the seniors next week and then maybe bring him back against the Kangas for a quarter or a half.

I think bringing him back in round 22 will be too late to get him anywhere near up to match fitness for finals action.

Taking this a step further if Stevo doesn't play and play reasonably well in the SANFL seniors next week, I think his 2003 run is too late. We would risk our premiership chances by including him in the team.

Mmmm... I did notice there was very little green in the guernsey, watching WWT live for the first time last weekend.

The last nail in the Woodville coffin?

Whilst I always felt that as a merger of football clubs (which is a very emotive thing) went the Woodville-West Torrens merger was very well done, I still think they should have come up with an entirely new nickname(not The Warriors or The Eagles).
Also it is interesting that with every new jumper (three in total) the green has gotten less and less. Nearly as interesting as when in 1993 some media 'experts' were picking the Eagles to win their first flag since 1953. I always thought it was their first flag period.
At least they still play and are based at the old Pecker Park.

Woodville's name comes first and we play at Woodville

The trade off for that was the Eagles nickname which was better than the warriors anyway.

Woodville played in yellow anyway, so the green I wuold have thought was a minor issue, and there is green in the jumper.

Song says "In gold and green and blue"

In any case, most people see it as a new club now and have moved forward which I think is great.

Stevo's year has been thoroughly ruined by injury unfortunately.

He's not a player who comes to hand quickly on a light preparation.

IMO he'll need everyone of the next 3 weeks to get some touch at all.

He certainly couldn't take another setback - even minor - or it's all over for Stevo this year.

The only consolation is that as long as we have Carey, Perrie and Welsh up forward we have enough fire power.

If Stevo makes it back to form and fitness it's a bonus.

Ok I am probably being sucked in here(but I cant argue with noddy cause he is from The Knob) we wont risk an underdone Stevo, but he must have to have his chance sometime before the finals if he is going be considered as a player in the finals;)

Come On Stevo

Where would he play if he does make it back to the Crows?
Carey has shown he is best at CHF, Perrie plays at FF, so where do you put Stevo? On a flank?
I have never been confident of getting the team balance right when all 3 have been available. Only place I see Stevo coming back into the team is on the bench or as a backup tall, probably in defence.

Remeber, earlier in the year they were playing MS at CHF, WC at FF and Sarge in a pocket. Can't see this line up working now.

I can't see us playing Stevo along with Carey, Perrie & Welsh in the forward line. Either there will have to be a bench-rotation or Stevo plays a key-backman role along with Kenny. I hope we have this slection-problem as Stevo is still a very valuable player (when fit). Also, gives us much more flexibility & potency if things need to be switched around.

I agree that Stevo, Perrie, Carey and Welsh are unlikely to exsist in the same forward line. If Stevo is to coma back as a forward then its between him and Sarge and on form Sarge wins.

I see Stevo as a backman when he comes back. He has played before as a FB but I would much rather he play at CHB where he provides a lot of drive from defence. If we come up against Brisbane I would play Stevo on Lynch.

Which ever way you look at it, having Stevo in the side provides us with a lot of flexibility.:)

I would actually play Kenny on the stronger forwards such as Lynch, Tredrea, Rocca, etc regardless of the position & play Stevo as the other key backman. Interesting debate though, but having Stevo as a key backman gives us 2 decent sized backmen, allowing Bassett & Hart to play on the flanks.

Yes Marty!!!! I like that bottom line!!!

Seriously though, if he can get through this week and next for the Eagles then I would seriously consider him for the Kangas game at home. My feelings aside, a fit Mark Stevens would be one of the first players picked for the Crows, he has had a bad trot but hopefully everything is behind him now. If we all remember back to the Wizard Cup we played very well with the 3 talls in Stevo, Perrie & Carey and we were all saying "can't wait for Welshy to be in the side too" I think we can play all three, certainly it would stretch most backlines and it would give the flexability of putting Stevo or Perrie in defence if we are being stretched by the oposition.

Goodluck to him tomorrow!

Yeah I think Stevens could prove a super addition to our side come finals time.

Think of it this way... we've won only one final since our grand final victory in 1998. And which player was instrumental in our fourth quarter comeback in that win?

Best line up??????

With all players fit and firing would this be our best team??????
