According to the media the Crows are happy with Stiffy's return to fitness and no doubt will be looking to slot him back into the side this week. so who is going to be the unlucky one? Do the Crows drop someone like the Count and move Macca into more of a forward role to leave stiffy around halfback, or maybe play stiffy further up the ground. Either way, someone is going to be unlucky, but who?

Ok please forgive as I do not want to be seen as doughty bashing every week but at the end of the game did Michael Doughty come off with a broken arm or hand?? Logical swap if he has hurt his arm or hand to be a change there.

Didnt see him listed as injured,. but it was a channel nine match, and they like to skip the important bits ..

We should leave Macca where he is and look to make Johncock the roving goal sneak forward. IMO Macca is playing the best he has for a couple of years and I cant see stiffy doing the job any better.

Maybe Torney might be the unlucky one. He was pretty poor on Sunday. It would be very harsh to get flicked for 1 bad game though.

I think he must be suffering from some sort of minor injury. He had a fitness test on the boundary before the warm up when we played the Dogs at home and couldn't really get into the game early. And the commentators mentioned that he had a test before the game on Sunday and didn't seem his normal self.

What is his SANFL form like ? Are we promoting him on reputation or SANFL performance ?

I don't want a liability in the team when we are playing a top 4 side this week.

I think it stated somewhere he had something wrong with his finger so I dont think it is anything too worry about.

Ok good enough for me……even if it is a suspected broken finger

In: Johncock

Out: Doughty

surprise suprise i think johncock was B.O.G for Sturt ressies at the weekend!

The dropping of Doughty would be a travesty.

His one mistake was poor, but what about all of the other things he does each week. He sets up so many forays down the field with his hands. He also plays well wherever he is sent - down back, up forward or in the midfield.

He should not and will not be dropped because of his good form. The Adelaide selectors fortunately are more astute and knowledgable than some of the posters here. He has played one or two poor games all year. He has been one of the ingredients of our success.

Reilly too was better this week. Torney is under the hammer, not because he cannot play, but because he looks to be playing sore.

Credit where credit is due!!!!

Its interesting how people are prepared to drop players after one bad game. Glad you are not part of th ematch committee. If anyone gets dropped it will be Van Berlo. He is the one most at risk. He got his tase of AFL footy and will be better for it.

For all his flaws Doughty is as of now a better player than Van Berlo. More experienced, just as versatile and NC has more faith in him than a lot of supporters.

Personally, I wouldn't bring Johncock in until the showdown but if he is to come in then Van Berlo is the one that will miss out (if no one is injured)

I would be amazed if he played this week or next - Port had the bye his form preceeding was average, he has poor aerobic capacity at the best of times and we're playing a critical and tight game.

Not one indicator to say he should play - and he won't!!

doughty made about five costly mistakes on the weekend not 1. Its not that anyway, its the fact that the guy is no good in the midfield, but is required to play there. But i agree he is NC's pet love and he wont go anywhere. Its a shame cause i can see VB improving more and adding something extra when doughty has no improvement and made critical mistakes playing in the middle against geelong and the kangaroos. Down back or off a Hff he is fine. The question is how skippy comes back in, NC loves him too, that means two need to go.

Spot on, someone suggested we drop Torney  Doughty is a very verstile player and has proven himself this year, Craig has shown faith in the players about time the supporter's do aswell.

I would like to see Johncock play the last three games of the year, he wont be back till the Showdown, and play him off the bench in bursts and give him more gametime each game.

Couldn't agree more - he's not ready yet

Agreed. I think Dogga is being unfairly singled out for a couple mistakes that even the best make. Goodwin had a similarly intercepted kick, and benny hart kicked it staight to the opposition aswell resulting in goal. Dogga had far from his best game, but i think he has had a pretty good year in all. Having said that, if anyone is to be dropped its between him and VB. Torney had a shocker but deserves his spot. Class act all round.

I'll bare my bum in Hindley St if Johncock does not play this week.
He is one of our best when fit.
Two weeks will be enough, even if he starts off the bench or hides in a pocket.
Cant say who will miss out - VB or Doughty I guess. Torney would be pretty stiff to be dropped after 1 bad game.

I reakon your going to be 'hanging' your ass out in Hindley St cause no way Johncock will get a gig this w/e.

As you said he is one of our best whenFIT

He anit fit ATM, he wouldnt have done any great amount of fitness for some months.

Another two weeks at least in the SANFL and then he could be possibly considered.
