Re: Stokes reported for striking

I reckon he is in a fair bit of trouble.
I hope the club can keep it down to 1, but I would not be surprised if he got 2.

Re: Stokes reported for striking

In reality, nothing in it, but we all know what the MRP is like.

Re: Stokes reported for striking

How long does the loading stay for?

3 years

I reckon he is in a fair bit of trouble.

Playing the what if game. If he gets 2 weeks, Geelong win the first round and make it into the grand final would you bring him back in for the GF? It would have to very very hard on some player who has done some hard work in the lead up.

In reality, nothing in it, but we all know what the MRP is like.

If he was to get 2 weeks and have no possibility of 3 I would say go all out and fight the whole report, not just a grading. But if you risk another week they would have to take it or have a very good case to go to the tribunal.

Re: Stokes reported for striking

Coming from an Eagles fan here -

He clearly tried to pull out. If he gets anything, it'll be a disgrace.

Re: Stokes reported for striking

I think it was arguably the softest report this season.

They gave him a free kick shot on goal ffs (stokes that is).

If stokes goes, then we need to start following a sport not frightened of the lawyers.

Totally agree, crap report. Late yes, contact, negligible.

On replay there was very little contact, whomever the Eagles player was, milked it for what it was worth.

Re: Stokes reported for striking

He'll get a week. Anyone who says he won't is kidding. All year players have been getting 1-2 for this kind of stuff. It's ridiculous I know but it's gonna happen. Prismall and Monty (Byrnes) wouldn't be too upset though.

I'm trying to think of ways of not saying you're not a **** ******, but failing.

Geelong forward Mathew Stokes has been cleared by the AFL match review panel.
Stokes was reported for striking Chad Fletcher in the Cats 99 point win over West Coast at Skilled Stadium.
However after reviewing the vision of the incident today the panel determined that Stokes did not have a case tow answer.
Stokes will now be able to take his place in the qualifying final against St Kilda at the MCG on Sunday.

The look on his face when he reaslised he had been reported was gut-wrenching. Not many work as hard as this little bloke so this is fantastic news for him, he's too smart a player not to be in our best side.

Go you good thing stokesy:thumbsu:
