Great to hear Stokesy take his chance to have an impact. If the youngsters like Stokes keep playing like this then I think we'll start seeing a lot more confidence and enthusiasm down at Kardinia Park. I think we only have to see back to the NAB Cup to see how they performed - the youngsters simply seemed to put in more.

Here's to having Prismall and a couple of other youngsters in the side soon if the older midfielders don't begin to perform consistently.

For him to be 30 cms taller :o

Nah doesn't need the extra height. Remember at draft time Bomber described him as a "power forward". Funny really, as good as Chappy & Gaz are, they tend not to kick a lot of crumbing goals. Stokes certainly is a play maker and combined with Gaz, Chappy and Dog (as long as he plays on his own terms and not do the team things) they will kick and create a fair few majors.

I thought he called Steve Owen a power forward

Great to see Stokes doing well. Looks as though he has made the transition from SANFL to AFL without a problem. Last year he was used alot from the back lines with the Eagles and sets up play very well. Also has been used plenty in the midfield and has kicked big bags of goals (8 in a final) when used as a crumbing forward.

Was always a favourite amongst Eagles fans and I hope he does well long term for the GFC.

Thanks - that's nice reading

I think we have picked up an absolute gem here. I have heard/read stories that he was at the AIS academy with the likes of Judd, Hodge and Ball, and mentioned in the same sentence as these guys in regards to some aspects of his game. Apparently his passion was just not as high as others.

Living in Adelaide, I have seen and heard first hand of his SANFL form, and it is now evident that this passion and drive is well and truely burning brightly in Stokesy. Without trying to put too much expectation on him, I reckon this could be the draft pick that is talked about for years to come.

Also, it is great to finally see some Indigenous talent back at the cattery. Varcoe and Stokes have certainly got me excited!

Alledgedly he reckons becuase he reached such a high standard at a very young age, he just thought it was all going to happen and he got complacent.

Has learnt his lesson and is committed now.
