That's straight from the President of our Great Club, so I hope that it puts to rest the nonsense that we definitely would have gotten Ellis and Thomas if we had've gone that way.

Of course, people may refer to Eddie as the King of Spin, but he's a more reliable source than anyone else.

As an add on to this, simply to make the situation absolutely clear:

"By the way got a call from my old mate Dermott who confirmed that our boy Dale was their pick at three thus the delay on making their decision.

Just because those idiots in the media (whoops that's me) had Ellis at two doesn't necessarily mean anyone else did.

Having said that both boys can play and show all the signs of being handy players in the future.

For the record both were very impressive young men yesterday and are a credit to their families and club.

Could very well be true but it's pretty meaningless ... what else do you expect the club to say?
