Small bit of Essendon related news, a bendigo bomber - stuart camperi has been given the ok to train with the club.

Anybody who watches a bit of Bendigo have a bit of a run down on what sort of player he is, and if you reckon he has a shot at getting a run on the senior list?

tall, athletic, running half back flank. surprisingly quick, solidly built, long left-foot kick. not quite big enough for CHB, more a periphery utility, could be a third tall defender. even had a run on scott west late in the season.

i noted midyear that i thought he should be looked at for a rookie spot. natural footballer, could develop quickly in the right environment. easily the pick of the local young guys. ahead of where atkinson was in his first year. imo.

would also add that he is very good endurance-wise. is in the top preseason running group with stants, and ran him a close second.

The 20-year-old’s first training run with Essendon will be a skills session at 8am this morning at Bundoora.

190 cm and 90+ kigs. Similar height but a little bit lighter than Neagle but is quick enough to play on a wing. Massive kick. Played well all season but even early in the year when guys like Welsh, Myers, JJ were playing 2's (and Bendigo were winning matches) he still got plenty of the ball. One negative he probably doesnt use his bulk as well as he could.

So good size, kick. Could be a worth a shot. Only 20 so can learn to handle the physicality.
